“First time here. I really liked the market/store. It's small but they have a good selection and a variety of items. Additionally, the people who work here are friendly and helpful. On the downside, the prices overall are higher that other places. Nevertheless, I went back the very next day. I like the selection of Mexican products.”

“It is always a blessing to visit someplace in the North Shore community that has been around for generations and continues to meet the needs of the community. In addition to the wonderful selection of meats, they open their community parking lot on Sundays for an afternoon of praise and worship.”

“Always came to this Pancho’s Meat Market since I was a kid. Enjoy coming here for goodies, food or tortillas. Yesterday 3/2 I wanted to get some cheese but didn’t know what to get. Shoutout to cashier Oralia! She went to the meat section and asked for the cheese I had described her. She went above and beyond! Thank you! ?”

“Grew up coming here for their marinated fajitas and all other fajitas I've tried don't compare and don't even come close. I think the marinated ones are better than their fajitas tejanas. The flavor is just amazing and I even have bought the seasoning alone to season different types of things at home like even the eggs I make for breakfast. Love the taste!”

“This is hands down the best grocery store in the neighborhood. The produce section is what keeps me coming back—everything is always fresh and vibrant, and they have an amazing selection of seasonal, local fruits and vegetables that you can't find anywhere else.
The staff here are really friendly. I had a cashier last week named Elizabeth, she attended me so well and greeted me with a smile. She even asked me how my day was going. This was by far the best experience I've had in Fiesta Mart.”

“We have been coming here to get our fajitas for over 5 years! We will not go anywhere else. Yes the ladies some days have attitudes but the food and meat sold here are worth it!!!!”

“This place is packed with big trucks, box trucks and cars zooming everywhere. I was parked in a box truck space sticking way out. The gate fee is $26.00 cash to enter to get unloaded: No cards or EFS or COMDATA to pay gate fee. Store just outside gate in walking distance with ATM inside. Other than that crazy fee, everything went smooth and fast. Looks like you can park here overnight. Lots of spaces on side as soon as you enter to left.”

“Wanted to try some marinated chicken. The reviews were not bad and it was close enough to me. I am white and at that time, the only one in the store. I only mention that because everyone was super nice but my spanish and their english didn't translate well. I need to get a grasp on some spanish. I will be going back because the chicken was really good. Also a small cafe which looked pretty good.”

“These people are the best. Good food and lots of different choices. Plus my grandpa lived behind it. When he died they sent a giant flower arrangement to his funeral. I will never forget it. Buy from here and support the hood.”

“The description says it all. But, I'll try to add. Overheard two older latin woman talking about how good a certain cafe in walking distance in the Lindale Park neighborhood on a Friday October morning. So, I decided to try it for breakfast. But, there were three cafes, so out of the three choices I settled on Matamoros Meat Market. It did not disappoint!

I've known going to eat at meat markets add points to the food quality and dining experience often. Upon walking in its a meat market and small grocery offering things that go with meat, like wine, seasoning, spices, cheese & even charcoal. They have small refrigerated fresh food bin with fruits & vegetables suck as potatoes, bananas, lemons, squash, okra, onions, garlic, cucumbers, cabbage, peppers, avocados and tomatoes.

But, wanting breakfast tacos I found the food counter and in my best spanish I order two sausage (they were out of bacon), egg, potato, beans and rice breakfast tacos. I then looked for OJ and discovered they had fresh juices: OJ, OJ & Carrot, Green juice & OJ & Beets. Perplexed, I asked a woman passing by who informed me, she wasn't an employee. Enter Izzy, my savior. She recommended the green juice and it paired well with my breakfast taco; mellow, fresh ingredients & slightly refreshing. I sat in a raised L-shaped metal counter with high wooden chairs. There was ample dining tables and another I-shaped wooden table to my back.

Did I mention the ladies cooking the food were patient angel as I studdered through my ever improving Spanish that I've let languish for years-in Texas, nonetheless. But, I made it through 80-90% of ordinary in spanish, when the lady taking my order called in help. But, we got 'er done. The ladies were sweet, patient and industrious. But, above all they were great cooks. My tacos were expected to be an adventure, but instead they were balanced, flavorful and delicious. So much so, I didnt even use the red salsa provided because the sausage was so delicious with glaze sauce. As, I sat there I realized I was swaying to great upbeat latin music that was authentic, modern and infectious dance hall music, normally produced by large groups of actual musicians at an outdoor festival with horns, bongos and real singers. I thought great music, excellent food, and the opportunity to immerse myself in latin culture, but more importantly practice my forgotten spanish in a real world setting.

Final thought, there was nothing to not recommend at Matomoras Meat Market. The patron was pleasant and kept to themselves. It was a amazing dining experience. I will be back!”

“I wanted to take my mom to a great little taco spot. They did not disappoint. I just pulled in here, knowing they would be good. It was the best quesadilla i have ever had. They didn't cut it. It was a two-handed sack of fajita beef and cheese. We were on the way to a concert, so we ate it on the way in the car...just passing it back and forth. I saved a couple of bites to give to a friend. The bites did not make it.”

“I personally haven't gone there for much and not to often I'm sure that I'd have rated it 5 stars with continuous visits as the service and products are good and the meat looks very good and I definitely plan on buying some from there sometime.”

“The store is neat and the prices are low

Update 2025: Still my fav meat + grocery store.
They always take your number to match your other, so there won't be a mix-up. Plus they never rush you.
Also, this store is honestly the cleanest Indian/Pak grocery store I've been to.”

“Super friendly personnel. Did charge a lumper. Only one big truck can deliver at a time at this place. The location is at the very back of shopping plaza. There is enough room to turn around. Backing is simple and easy. There is a store on the end of building near entrance where you can buy some Mexican food/groceries.”

“There is over night parking if any other trucks park correctly. You can fit 2 maybe 3 trucks in lot out front. They got me in and out in an hour. It's a little tight backing, but it's not terrible. I've definitely been to worse places. You do need to back in off the street so come early in the morning if you can.”
