“Purchased 350 tacos (beef & chicken) for a catering event from Super Mercado Popular. They were very helpful and they even got us a super affordable price for the tacos! Everybody loved how authentic and amazing they taste. Each taco was wrapped in foil, and they provided more than enough salsa (in tiny sauce containers) and condiments (in tiny plastic bags). Can't wait to order from them again for future events!”

“Pyburn's is one of the few meat markets in Houston that has chicken boudin. I forgot this location was here until I did a search for boudin and it came up. I was impressed that this little meat market/grovery store has 4-6 self checkout lanes with a monitor who is happy to assist with issues. The guy behind the buthcer counter was very helpful and nice! I got my chicken boudin, a box of crackers, and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The area is a little sketchy, but they have security for the vast amount of parking. I've been back a few times.”

Stopped in on Saturday morning and received the same consistent friendly helpful service that I have been receiving from this location and the same dedicated-pleasant employee for over 20 years of shopping here. My go to favorites are the de-boned chicken stuffed with rice, broccoli & cheese dressing, boudain links, sausage on a stick, etoufee and many more. “My boyfriend and I found them on Google, they are closer to us than a lot of halal meat markets. We came in looking for good quality meat, and that's exactly what we purchased. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who was very hospitable and helpful to us. They aren't fully open on Tuesdays, but that didn't stop them from giving us exactly what we needed at an excellent price. Better than Costco.We will definitely be coming back ?”

“I'm so impressed with this place. Upon entering the store it was obvious that they take pride in every aspect of their business. The store is clean and organized. They have a wide variety of meats and products. I was surprised to learn that they make all of their own products. I purchased their beef liver. For almost a decade I've been searching for quality beef liver that isn't full of tough stringy connective tissue. Finally, my search is over! I thoroughly enjoyed my liver and onions dinner. This is the first time I didn't have to throw most of it in the trash. I'll definitely be back for more! Looking forward to trying some of their other meats as well. Also, their customer service was refreshingly outstanding.”

“OMG I ate the best baklava in Houston! When the doors of the food mart opened, the aroma that hit me was insane! I didn't bother to look at any of the products on the shelves. My nose literally led me to the back of the food mart where the bakery is. I saw trays and trays of different kinds of baklavas in the display cases. I got greedy (as usual when it comes to sweet food) and asked for eight different kinds of baklavas. The baklavas were sold by per pounds. Luckily I brought my Turkish friend along which helped in the communication part, and I was able to get a few pieces of each kind. The baklavas weren't too sweet, and they were so awesomely good. If I have to choose one favorite (trust me, it is tough to have one favorite only), it would have to be the cold baklavas with hazelnut or pistachios. Eat them straight out from the fridge is just aaahhhh... Diyarbakir Burma with pistachio had a good texture contrast that was so good. I also got the rice pudding (forgot to take a pic because I gobbled it down before I remember to take a pic) which came in a small rectangle aluminum tray. The rice pudding was baked well, and it wasn't overly sweet. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Other than sweets, the bakery sells breads too. That would be the food item l will purchase on my next visit.”

“Found Herbert's by accident. I love Cajun cuisine, so I gave it a shot got lunch today. When I first saw it, I thought it was a meat market-it's is (more on that later). It's clean, sunlit and sizable. There are two doors, one goes into the eatery and the other enters into the meat market. I spoke to the staff and asked was there a Mr. Herbert's. They said there wasn't, but they introduced me to the owner, Mr. Capp. He informed me the Herbert's didn't want to leave Louisiana, but he has the franchise rights in Texas. The meat section was full of meat (Mr. Capp said they have a processing area in the rear). My lunch mate wondered if they would process a deer if you brought one. Mr. Capped said if you bring a wild deer or wild hog, they will process it. The meat you bring must be skinned & quartered-if not, they'll decline. They didn't have standard prices nor do work by weight, but Mr. Capp said they'll discuss prices once your ready to go. THEY DONT PROCESS FARM PIGS.Now to the eatery. Sadly, there's not a lot of seating area-that's the only drawback. There menu is section in appetizers, sandwiches, platters & special. I had boudin egg rolls & a boudin link. My lunch mate had a sandwich with tater-tots.Herbert's has several locations on Houston. I will be back and I'll try to bring my friends from the boot when they visit Houston.”
