“I just received the best customer service possible at this five below location. As a third party shopper I get a lot of attitudes but that is not what I got from Dustin. He appeared to be the manager on staff. Very helpful. Very kind the whole process. I understand the annoyance of having someone ask you over and over where something is so I tried to avoid that but I still get negative energy from the associates because of what they expect but I didn't get any of that from him. Y'all got somebody special working at the front of the store. Please keep him around”
“One of the better DG locations. Never is there cluttered aisles like most locations and the store is well stocked. I pass a different DG just to come to this one.”
“This is my favorite Dollar General in town. It has so many more options than the one on East Houston Street. I love it. The only thing I can't walk into is the bathroom. It is disgusting and the smell almost made me throw up. There are also holes in the wall which had toilet paper stuffed in them. The bathroom needs a good cleaning and fixing up.”
“But far one of the cleanest stores I’ve been to and trust me I’ve been to a few location has everything cleaned, priced stocked and faced, almost to the point where you think somebody has OCD and deserves a raise. While here I was greeted by both the cashier and the assistant manager at the store, and both of which were very kind took him in a task if I had any questions and point me in the direction of anything that I was looking for well I can’t speak to the other reviews. They generally seem like they’re positive except for a few here and there that seemed like it was somebody who’s just looking for something free. “I’ve been a regular at this Dollar General for about 5 years, and overall I genuinely love this store. Most of the employees are amazing—I know many of them by name. The manager does a great job, and Diane is always kind, welcoming, and helpful.
However, I’ve had repeated negative experiences with one employee that have impacted my visits.
A couple of years ago, I was checking out on a Saturday and trying to reach the $25 total for the $5 off coupon. I asked if she could ring up one more item while I quickly grabbed it, since I knew it was in stock. She responded by raising her voice and saying, “I can’t do that,” in a very harsh and unprofessional tone.
This past Saturday (04/04/26), I had a similar experience. I simply asked if she could hit the total button, so I could confirm my coupons came off before adding more items. Before I could even finish speaking, she cut me off and again said she “can’t do that,” with the same tone of voice and totally unnecessary attitude
At this point, it’s not about policy—it’s about how Kelley treats customers. She does not listen and is unwilling to help, which creates a COMPLETELY different experience compared to the rest of the team.
I truly like this store and appreciate the majority of the staff, which is why I’m sharing this feedback. I hope Kelley gets an attitude adjustment and works on her approach to customers, as she often comes across so RUDE and unnecessarily negative. A refresher in basic customer service skills would make a HUGE difference.”
“The manager is absolutely awesome! She'll go out of her way to make sure you find what you need or to help you search for something that was lost in the store. A pair of glasses set down by accident and she helped us look for them. She was so helpful!!”

“Nice variety of items a little crowded sometimes with overworked staff being pulled in all directions. They work hard. The staff are very nice and helpful. But, they're overworked and understaffed. Dollar General needs to allow them the payroll hours to hire more help. Dollar General made them work with the a/c out of order for days. DG can do better for them, and pass that service in to customers.”
“As per Dollar General's business model there is practically one in everyone's neighborhood so hopping in and jumping right back out is easily doable any weekday on through the weekend. Convience is key with any social or family gathering. Most prep items, cutlery, condiments, drinks, or drinkware needed are a moment away & no one need forget ice. You will find most everyday items in the store for under $5 and it would shock me to ever see anything over $10 which makes monthly budgeting a breeze and holidays to die for! My only complaint is the staff interaction is usually limited to the register only & very few are either helpful answering questions nor do they seem pleasant. This criticism is actually based on at least 4 stores I regularly frequent, 2 others somewhat infrequent and 5 cities I have resided in throughout the years, being such a long period of time I thought I'd mention it perhaps the management may wish to give their staff new training options, you never know(sometimes a fresh outlook is a game changer)!!”

“I went today to get a couple of stuff but couldn’t locate them I asked the employee named Mel if she can tell me where they are located. I told her I went that way but didn’t find them, mind you she was super duper busy stocking stuff! She went out of her way went to check the location and saw they didn’t have any so she went to the back and dug for them and was so completely nice about it! I appreciate her doing the most to help me find them! Thank you Mel!”
