The employees are great, but I really hate how they have reorganized everything. A while ago they reorganized things and it was terrible, and now they’ve decided to make it even worse. They have the center devoted to their little nooks which could all be put on one shelf in a far corner, instead they have a lot of empty space all around them; I guess like Lays potato chips they need a lot of air. And all the areas with actual books are cramped; people are trying to squeeze past each other while wandering, looking for where everything was moved to, because why have rush hour traffic and construction on the roads only?
On top of that they messed with the mystery section! A while ago they took it and shrunk it down, now they have moved it to a completely different location (which in and of itself isn’t bad) and mixed the cozy murder mysteries with the thriller mysteries so in order to look for your particular genre you have to hunt even more than before. You’ve got Angela Lansbury/Murder She Wrote mysteries and Krista Davis mixed with James Patterson and Mark Greaney. There is nothing wrong about any of these writers but they should be separated. Soon these books are going to start having babies and instead of a sweet southern pie murder, Russians will be invading and the Gray Man will be running through Virginia all the way up to Maine, messing with Mrs. Fletchers crime solving skills.
I didn’t get a good look at a whole lot more than that, other than that where mysteries used to be, is now filled with Fabio and all of his ancestors and descendants; it’s a whole lot of pink, frills, bare chests, hair, and almost kisses, because you’ve got to leave your audience wanting more!

*edit: it’s become even worse than before, mainly that it’s kind of a safety hazard in there; there’s space down the center, but on the sides, where most people are, it’s been made into a worse maze, making it more difficult for the majority of people in there to get out in case of an emergency. I will say the one good thing they did was cut down on the area devoted to the Nooks.
And as a less important issue, they’ve stopped selling some of my favorite authors. I’m glad I’ve got Audible now, I’ll either buy from there or just order from Amazon for physical books; if I’m going to have to put in a request for B&N to order a book I want it’s easier and probably faster to get it online anyway. Book stores and libraries are meant to be relaxing places, but it went from frustrating to overwhelmingly unpleasant in B&N. Whoever made all of these changes deserves a stubbed toe, or a paper cut…okay, so not really, but they should no longer be allowed to make important decisions.”
