The food is always fantastic, but what really sets Wayside apart is the people. Recently, I stopped in looking for a set of Allen keys. They didn’t carry them, but instead of simply saying, “Sorry, we don’t have them,” they went into the back, found their own set, and lent them to me, trusting that I would bring them back.

That simple act of kindness honestly meant more to me than they probably realized. No forms, no deposit, no questions. Just one neighbor helping another.

It’s easy to find a place that serves good food. It’s much harder to find a place with great food, genuinely good people, and that wonderful sense of community and trust.

This is why I love small-town life. Places like Wayside General Store remind you that there are still great people who simply look out for one another.

“The kind staff at Heer's absolutely saved a wedding after party! At the last minute we decided to have an after party but hadn't planned for booze. Not only did the staff help us with our selection, they kindly loaded the our car and got us set up with ice. They were so wonderful!! I will absolutely buy from them next time I'm in the area!”

“Sam made us the best pizza garlic cheese pizza and super quick. I was in such a rush he had that thing finished with a crispy crust and dark cheesey bubbles on top. Usually I like my pizza over done he did it perfectly. Would never think to order pizza at Stewart’s but Arlington with Sam, you can. Sam needs a raise he’s the whole package.”
