“This was our first visit to the Hermitage Inn, and we had dinner in The Birches Dining Room. When making reservations, the Dining Room was not available but when we arrived, they were able to accommodate us to our pleasant surprise. The dining room was beautifully decorated with extremely comfortable and high-quality furniture. Our server, Ben, was wonderful and all the food was delicious. We were seated by a window and were able to enjoy views of the beautiful grounds as it was still light out. This is clearly a high-end restaurant but has a comfy, casual feel to it at the same time. The men in our party had the smoked old-fashioned cocktails and absolutely loved them. The Vermont Blue Hubbard Squash Tart appetizer was amazingly delish! We all had the halibut entree and were very happy with it. The apple fritter dessert was heavenly. We highly recommend the Hermitage for dining - but honestly, I don't think they need the recommendation. Their reputation speaks for itself!”

“My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and decided to return to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The place has been remodeled and changed owners several times, but its charm remains. We stayed in the Sugar Maple room, which is the largest room and faces the front, with a spectacular view of the town green. The staff were great and appreciated our stories of the "old days." They serve a nice continental breakfast but don't currently have their own restaurant. That's unfortunate because in the past their restaurant was world class, but there are some good restaurants in nearby Brattleboro. Highly recommended for a getaway to a classic VT town, especially in leaf peeping season.”

“This place is where dreams are made. I've stayed there twice now for ski trips and for the price it doesn't get much better. Talk about bang for your buck!! From the pool and sauna room to the commons area, there is always an opportunity to enjoy yourself. The rooms are always very clean and the continental breakfast is delicious. And on top of all of that, it's family owned. 10/10 will be going back.”
“Victoria and her team have created a charming, high-touch guest experience at this historic property, serenely situated near a pond amid southern Vermont's verdant, rolling expanses. Surrounded by natural splendor, guests can immerse themselves in the enchanting ambiance of falling foliage while savoring fresh juice and homemade breakfast. An ancient tree, its crimson leaves ablaze, stands proudly outside the dining room window—a stunning sight sure to stop you in your tracks. Victoria’s warm hospitality shines through; she graciously prepared a quick breakfast for us, even with our late start!”
