“We moved to the area last year and we were excited to see a highly rated cat clinic a few minutes away. I prefer a cat clinic because they specialize in treating felines and I don’t have to worry about walking into a stressful environment with large dogs barking and echoing throughout the waiting area.
I take my kitty for monthly shots for his arthritis and the staff is always caring, friendly, and attentive. They’re also very reasonably priced and I don’t have anxiety that they’ll try to upsell me on unneeded services.
Sometimes, I have to search a bit for a parking spot —but that’s the trade off being located near so many other popular businesses. I wish that they had a few reserved spots, close to their door, but not every property manager will allow for that.”
“Dr. L. Gomez is thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She patiently answered all of my zillion questions. I took my dog to Fort Hunt Animal Hospital after her limp continued to get worse. Dr. Gomez took her time explaining everything to me and kept me updated throughout the day while she sedated my dog to do tests. When I went to pick up my dog LaLa, Dr. Gomez reviewed all the x-rays and information from the exam and prepared a thorough discharge packet. I trust her with my dogs life and am confident that my dog is getting the best care.”

“Elpaw has been my vet for years. They have been wonderful with my very nervous dog and do a lot to make her as comfortable as possible. Prices are reasonable, and they don't push for more than you need. My older dog has needed more care recently, and they've been able to accommodate her very quickly most of the time. I’ve been bringing my dogs to VCA Old Town for around 5 years, and I can’t say enough good things about the team here. From the front desk to the techs to the vets, everyone is incredibly kind and professional.
Edgar and Cheyenne (most recent interaction), along with Dr. Lacoste’s tech (I think her name is nicole), are phenomenal—gentle, calm, and attentive every single visit. We’ve seen both Dr. Madera and Dr. Lacoste, and they’ve both gone above and beyond in providing excellent care.
Everyone at the front desk staff is equally amazing. They keep things running smoothly and make you feel at ease from the moment you walk in. Becca and Avery in particular are always welcoming, warm and efficient, answering any questions I have no matter how silly.
One of my dogs has had a particularly tough year with infections and some more serious issues, and the team has supported us every step of the way. When she was attacked by another dog last year, VCA Old Town went out of their way to give us a private space to wait, away from the crowds/dogs, and that meant a lot to us.
My other dog is always relaxed when we come in—which says a lot—and I never feel anxious either. What I love most is how everyone treats the dogs with respect. They’re never overly excitable or loud; they maintain a calm, professional presence that really helps dogs feel safe.
I’m so grateful for this team that truly goes above and beyond. I trust them completely with my dogs’ care.”
“I was able to schedule an appointment within 24 hours, which was very responsive compared to other vets in Mount Vernon. Dr. Miller & Dr. Owel were professional and kind via phone. They both carefully explained the diagnosis, processes, and treatment. I like that they emailed me the medical documents after the visit. This vet office is organized, responsive to customer care, and time-efficient. I would recommend this office to anyone seeking a caring and careful vet. Their staff are very helpful and courteous as well.”

Erica and Kelly are an amazing concierge team with beautiful smiles and enthusiasm! Keefe is very gentle with Marina especially when she doesn’t like having her nails trimmed! This office is always clean and friendly !”
“Our experience with Dr. V was good, took time to explain. Most importantly, our cat Michi didn’t have any pain or issues after neutering. The quoting system over email could use improvement. It’s a bit confusing and takes a few back-and-forth to nail down. Otherwise I recommend this vet.”

The vet, Dr. Carlson, and techs were outstanding.
We like that in addition to the great vet services, they have a grooming service that is very good. Our dog blows her double coat twice a year. Their groomers do a good job with that.”
