“CSA and Saturday morning farm stand. My parents belong to this CSA and it's always a large variety of delicious organic vegetables. You can change out one thing for another, if you don't care for a certain veggie, or particularly love something else. If you're not a CSA member you can still pick up almost everything (I was jealous the first day of tomatoes... the first harvest was for CSA only, and they looked tasty). The farm stand is right on the edge of the fields where they grow the veggies - can't get more local than that! Love that they often also stock goods grown, raised, or baked around the area: delicious frozen pizza, pastries, and meat. Support our farmers!!”

“I'm on a bikepacking trip on the TransVirginia Valley Route. Stopped by there today around lunch time. The lady working there fixed me one of the best toasted ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise sandwiches I've ever eaten!!That and 40 oz of Gatorade had me ridin' on feelin' fine!”

“I started shopping at this Martin's because the one in Front Royal is a disgusting, stinky, filthy dump. Stepping into this store is like crossing the threshold into heaven itself compared with Front Royal. From the parking lot to the checkout, carts are available, aisles and floors are clean, shelves are well stocked, items are visibly priced, produce, meats and bakery are fresh, and staff are courteous. Charles has been my cashier both times and is always friendly. So glad this store exists so that I have a fairly close alternative while I boycott the store in my hometown. If you live within a 30-minute radius, this is the Martin's to patronize!”

“This place is a hidden gem. We took my nephew for the first time today and it was cool watching the great big pumpkin being carved! They also offered free pumpkin carving and had great selections at the market. The employees were kind and helpful too. We will visit again!”

“Store is always clean and well-stocked. Parking lot is easy to maneuver.Never more than a couple minute wait if using the cashiers. Otherwise, they have self-checkout now which helps to speed things along if you have < 10 items.”

“At first- I just noticed how inexpensive everything was. It didn't take long to figure it out. Wholesale items from other retailers because of item's discontinued and or best by date. No thanks...I kept coming back because of the produce: Potatoes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, greens and everything in-between seemed too good for the price tag associated with them. I heard, that the Amish community owns the grocery chain. That made sense, so I continued to shop there. Three months ago I started my own business and things are tight. I was short on my most recent purchase by only a couple dollars. The miscalculation prompted me to quickly reach for my bags and fish out whatever I could to make the till come to what I had on hand to spend. The cashier politely and discreetly said "No. Stop. It's OK. Don't." Apparently the store has a system in place for such an event. The store sets aside extra money to help customers who can not pay their bill. My restrictions and budget limitations are self imposed. However, I realize that there are many folks out there that work very hard to make ends meet, and still come up short. Sharp Shopper has earned my business and this review.”

“Has many basic needs covered-milk, bread, eggs, cheese, juice, sodas, beer, wine. Serves Hunt Brothers pizza and has a grill to prepare hot foods. Each day there is a food special posted on the chalkboard outside of the store. Jim's is a hub of Shenandoah Farms where the locals get what they need and catch up with neighbors.”

“One of my new favorite places to go for fresh fruits & vegetables. They have some organic options, too. It’s a quick trip, easy in and out. They pretty much have everything, I need so I don’t to shop anywhere else now.”

“Fast unload, clear communication, very friendly. I missed my appointment yesterday due issues at the previous receiver, and they were extremely accommodating and allowed me to come in at opening to be unloaded first. Even with a damage claim, they were fantastic! I wish all shippers and receivers were this good!”

“Owner is absolutely great and even gives advice on toys. This is an adult store so absolutely no kids. Great selection and advice. So stop being bored and go do something about it.”

“It is a small town store and everyone who works there is local. They also do great giving opportunities to individuals with disabilities. I have been living in Berryville for well over a decade after transplanting from Northen Virginia. You want a big store that will have everything go to Costco. That is not the purpose of a small grocery store. That is not why people move and live here. Most people who have a problem with this store or the people who work there do not know small time, main street USA life. The store is significantly better from the previous two companies. The town loves the store and the folks that work there. It serves our needs very well thank you!”

“All the employees of the pharmacy are SOOOO very kind and extremely helpful. Plus a WHOLE LOT cheaper. At walgreens my meds were 71 bucks....same meds at Martins is 11.44. I loved the pharmacist and techs at walgreens SOOO much but 60 bucks is 60 bucks in my pocket haha.”
