“From start to finish everyone at Lucky Dog was very helpful. They walked me through the adoption process smoothly and answered all my questions. Henry is doing great in his new home. We are working on potty training and crate training. I’m glad I made the choice to adopt and should I decide to add to my family in the future I would definitely use Lucky Dog again.”

“I am absolutely amazed that our county has such a remarkable center specifically for helping those seniors with cognitive impairments at all levels. While still relatively new for my spouse, as she gets use to some hours without me, the expert staff at the center is doing their utmost to help her get over the anxiety of being away from myself for a short time as caregiver. And there are so many staff members ready to help each individual. And the day activities they provide for these seniors is fantastic- whether they be seat exercises, music and sing alongs, or art history or movie memories. And then as caregiver, ultimately help me catch up with some time to myself, even though I am still working on some guilt for this time away. They even have caregiver programs to help us thru all this as well. I sincerely thank insight memory care center for providing these amazing services.”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cloverleaf Equine Center. Their service, support, understanding, and patience are truly the best. Every staff member is kind, caring, and dedicated to helping the children and families they serve.
My son is autistic, and he absolutely loves going there. He is always excited for his sessions and has built a great connection with his therapist. The staff take the time to understand his needs and make him feel comfortable, supported, and successful.
We have seen so much positivity through this program, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they do. Thank you to the entire team for your compassion, professionalism, and commitment. You are making a real difference in our lives!

“We love TCCC! Our son has thrived there all the way from the infant room to preschool. It was an easy decision to send our daughter there, as well.
The teachers are wonderful, experienced professionals who foster a warm and caring classroom environment. One of the best things about TCCC is that many of the staff have been there for years, so the kids have consistent teachers and familiar faces.
The preschool program is excellent and the curriculum is thoughtfully structured. I’m confident my children will be ready for Kindergarten.
The food is also great. The menu is healthy and we love that we don’t have to pack anything besides a water bottle. For babies, they serve baby food and even provide premium formula included as part of tuition.
The TCCC community is amazing. Parents are friendly and engaged. We love that it’s a non-profit, so the focus is truly on the kids and families. We’re so grateful to have found TCCC and can’t recommend it highly enough.”

“Dad worked at the medium/ maximum security Federal prison at lorton, Virgina retiring in 1960. The penitentiary complex located in and around lorton Virginia was the federal prison system created for crimes committed in the DC area or the DC district which is a federal district requiring
Prisons not run by the state or county. They are calling it the workhouse? This was the name given to the prison within the complex near occoquan where short timers were sent. The pictures that we have seen look to be the large prison which was called 'The Hill' as it sat on top of a large rise in the topgraphical area. There was also a female prison near the workhouse in occoquan. And the new youth prison which was being completed as my father retired. The liberals contrived the youth facility meant well. It was built like a college, dormitory rooms 4 youth to a room. Unfortunately, the feedback father got from his friends Left behind was this new modern idea never panned out. A complete and utter failure, the mild rules and leniency produced crime within the facility so bad that the youth seemed to run the facility. The workhouse which was for the short-timers those were the fellas that would come out and mow the lawn, paint & do repairs to houses that were on the reservation. Just like the military service, certain people with time in grade and rank could put in for reservation housing. I grew up in such a house. we were just over the hill from the main prison guessing the house sat on 20 acres. Unlike prisons that are corporate contracted to states or counties or state managed facilities, the complex in lorton was self-sustaining. Beeves grazed on surrounding pastures on reservation, the prison operated a packing house, raised hogs, produced their own road or building bricks, operated their own waste water treat facilities,
performed all maintenance & repairs thru inmate labor unless it required structural engineering. We used to go on site often. Glad to know the complex was re-purposed.”

“We’ve been part of the TCCC community since our first of three was a baby, and they have been our extended family. It is clear that the teachers love the kids so much, and are so caring and attentive. Our oldest is now in kindergarten and TCCC was a huge part of setting him up to thrive. By the end of his last year he was doing math worksheets and writing short sentences, and that was all due to TCCC’s focus on education. Every day has new lessons and activities and art projects, and we are always surprised at how much they learn. I’m so glad we found TCCC and highly recommend it to everyone!”

“I recently had the opportunity to visit Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture for the second time with my company for a volunteering event, and once again, it was a memorable experience.
We started with a tour of the facility, where we learned about the rich and complex history of the property. It has both sad and wonderful parts, but it has now been repurposed into a beautiful, sustainable teaching farm. During the tour, we were able to taste fresh vegetables, ask questions, and learn about how Arcadia supports local communities in Virginia and D.C. We even learned that asparagus has a surprisingly pretty top growth (maybe that was just me!).
After the tour, we split into groups to tackle various tasks like weeding, mulching, composting, devining fences, harvesting vegetables, tilling with a machine, and more. There were so many things happening that I couldn’t keep track of them all!
When the hard work was done, we were treated to a lovely lunch, with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits to enjoy. This year was just as fantastic as my first visit, and I’m already looking forward to coming back in 2026. Thank you, Arcadia, for another wonderful experience!”
