“Thank goodness one thrift store still specializes in media. Great selection of books, movies, and games, with really helpful staff! Only complaint is that things aren't exactly in alphabetical order, but you'll want to browse all the aisles anyways.”

“Decent sized Catholic store. The workers there are always very helpful. It's always nice to go to a Catholic store that isn't run down and is well maintained. Highly recommend if you need any Catholic item needs.”

“Cute, bright, and clean book store! Loved the employee suggestions and reviews. They also had quite a few signed copies which I thought was cool. The location was a little weird to find, but it’s a cute neighborhood book store.”

“Amazing bookstore. Came in looking for a leather bound ESV Bible and they had just that. The customer service was great and the woman behind the desk was engaged and cared about spreading joy and Christian love.”

“I published my first illustrated book, For the Love of Laxmi with Mascot Books, on February 1, 2022. We started working together on the book in June 2021 - I had already worked with an illustrator to get the designs done on my own, so I didn't end up using their design services, so I cannot entirely comment on that. I worked with Mascot on their publishing, distribution, and marketing options, and I admire them and their work. This was my first book ever, so I had a lot of anxiety about timing, quality, and ensuring we would have a good go-to-market strategy. I initially micromanaged with a million questions, which their team handled so gracefully. I do wish their team provided frequent communications and more face to face/zoom time to help reassure, but outside of that, they were always on top of things behind the scene - the book quality was stunning, the distribution was outstanding, and truly resulted in a great first release. I can't wait to work with them on the other project.”

“10/14/23While shopping at Fair Oaks Mall,One of the first things I saw was a soft furry fox that had me at hello. These stuffed animals were on sale for $21.99. If I bought one, you get the next one at half price. I ended up buying a Tanjaro: Drangon Slayer Plush Doll for a friend of the family. I just looked at my receipt and my fox (Who's name is Celeste Colgate Fox) is labeled as a Red Panda). Okay, my black and red fox is a panda. Cool beans.Either way, Colgate is happier being in our home, than by herself. I carried Colgate around the store while my wife was shopping. When she and her friend were ready to leave, it was clear I was going to by Colgate.Guess my wife turned me on to stuffies. I now own three. Two from Build A Bear and one from Go Calender. Speaking of which, we do need a new calendar, but it will have to be one we both like. I did not care for the NFL calendars I saw. The ones I saw were not my team.I am glad we stopped by this store. We will have to do it again.”

“My husband and I met at Unity of Fairfax and raised our kids here. We both grew up in traditional churches, but as adults we grew away from those traditional Christian faiths. We both studied Eastern religions as adults, and were drawn to Unity because it's focus is more on one's own spiritual development than adhering to dogma. There are some basic Unity principles that we follow, such as "We create our reality through the thoughts we hold in consciousness." The way we interpret the Bible is a metaphysical one, rather than literal. We draw lessons from other texts as well. The focus is on studying and practicing universal truths and principles, which are often similar across many religions. Unity practices inclusion, as well, welcoming all people. We enjoy spending time with the open-minded people we meet here.”

“Okay, so I had a hard time finding this place. For those of you who are new to Loudon, it's in the basement of the LR building. It was super easy to find my textbooks here. The cashiers/staff are all so friendly, and they'll help you find everything you need. Returns are super easy too. Just make sure you keep your receipt!”

“Books-A-Million, always has the best manga selection! One time, I was getting a full box set of manga, and an employee was genuinely so kind about giving me a review on how it was for them. Another time, I did see an employee eyeing me creepily, but I didn't mind. The variety of the figurines, bookmarks, and books were brilliant! As a writer, I would really like my new release to be in their stores.”

“I was pretty angry when I walked into the store. Kayla, the new store manager turned that around and is literally the epitome of what ANY establishment should look for in management. There was an issue with a pre-order that she went out of her way to make right and I truly appreciate it! The store was organized and well stocked. The other staff was very friendly.”

“Love my bookstores. Still getting used to layout and how they organize the books. Frustrating when you go for your faves and have to ask where they are. Good selections though”

“The staff at the GMU bookstore were very friendly. The young lady who went out of her way to assist us in our search for our son's books was more informative than the young man at the registrars office earlier that day. She even helped our son's roommate as soon as she was done helping our son. Very dedicated to serving the students. The two cashiers worked diligently to keep the line moving on move-in day. I felt bad for them. Sadly, it didn't seem as though managent planned very well for staffing and quite a few books were out of stock 2 days before the fall semester was scheduled to start. The staff were definitely the highlight of our visit and made our experience every bit of the 4 stars.”

“Friendly service and a place to get last minute items including newspapers. Has oral products and devices, over the counter medicine and usual food products and drinks.”

“Honestly really nice and super chill, the guy at the register is super nice and friendly and they got a decent selection of snacks and candy for a recharge whenever you need it. They also have a bunch of school and art supplies so it's a handy tool when your in a pinch and need something on campus”

“Bookworm Central is a local company (based out of Manassas, VA!) that offers on-site book fairs, online book fairs (yes, virtual book fairs!), literacy programs, and classroom collections for all ages. I know that most schools usually stick with the big-wig (aka Scholastic), but it seems as if Bookworm Central is more personalized and offers a better high-quality selection of reading materials. You can request collections by grades, by specialty (leveled reading, Common Core, state reading lists, etc.), or by interests (award winners, favorite author sets, favorite series, etc.). The staff is extremely helpful, and they actually send out representatives to visit the schools to check out the inventory, help set-up (with their volunteers; mind you, it is still a small company, but growing), as well as continue to customize in terms of the popular products. I've also noticed that Bookworm offers a variety of different and unique books and less of the 'unnecessary' toys/gadgets. You can still find cool kits and puzzles, though! I highly recommend in checking Bookworm Central out - your school will totally be surprised at the high level of quality in the selection! :D”
