“These workouts are tough, but the atmosphere and support is OUT OF THIS WORLD. These ladies and Carly seriously made me feel immediately part of the group and encouraged me throughout the whole workout. This level of training is what I need to reach my fitness goals and I’m so excited to see how this changes my life both physically and mentally. Highly recommended.”

“I started doing CrossFit here last year, and I can't recommend it enough. Without exception, the coaches are friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. They genuinely care about your progress and form while working out. The community is great as well--even as a beginner, I felt comfortable and welcome from day 1.”

“This is an awesome gym, 24/7, has all the equipment you could need and more, great owner super nice guy, really enjoyed our time there. The best part about this gym was the other people working out there, lots of young people trying to better themselves, no creepy old guys staring you down while you finish your set. Best energy/environment I have felt as a member of a gym.”

“CrossFit SPRC was our home away for three months while traveling to Cville. They have a wonderful staff, great programming, and a warm inviting gym culture. They also offer a 24/7 open gym access which was a big selling point for us. Miss you SPRC, I'll be back one day!”

“I stopped by Formula to stretch my legs and get a workout in during the middle of a 6 hr road trip. I took the Equilibrium class with Ann which is broken into ~15mins Treadmill, ~15mins Weights and repeated 2 times. It was fantastic and I cannot recommend this class enough. The workout was tough but Ann guided everyone through the motions and kept the class aware of the timing/rounds for the entire workout. The facility is very clean and everyone was more than welcoming. Overall it was a great place to get a workout with absolutely no sense of gymtimidation. If I lived closer I would be a regular.”

“Wow this is a fun workout! It was my first time attending jazzercise and it was at 6am (ahhh). I came in a bit groggy and was woken up quickly by the energy of this workout. The workout itself is a mix of cardio and strength building. The cardio is the "dancing" part while the strength part includes mats and weights. I cannot dance- at all. But the steps are repeated through the whole song so by the half way point everyone is able to do it even if you are rhythmically disinclined. Every time the instructor gave a dance direction she made sure to explain and show what it was, so I never felt lost for too long. I'm sure it gets easier to remember the steps each time you go. The thing I liked most was that you can completely tailor this to the level you are able/willing to do. The age range was diverse so it wasn't intimidating for me to slow down or go harder as needed (of course the instructor was always pushing me to go harder which I tend to need!). Also, no mirrors which I love! Overall, I was sweaty, laughing, and could feel the burn at 6am so I call that a win. Shout out to the instructor I had, Lizzy, for keeping all of us engaged and motivated!”

She understands your fitness level and works to improve your flexibility, strength, endurance, VO2 max, obstacle proficiency. She'll push you to get your maximum results, without injury. Classes or private training - whatever your need is, she'll find a spot for you.”

“Love CrossFit Charlottesville!! The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, and the environment couldn't be friendlier. To me, the reason I do CrossFit vs. other workout formats is the community aspect. It's the most critical factor when I look for a gym, and CrossFit Charlottesville and its current owner have that in spades! The friendly atmosphere and community at CrossFit Charlottesville are what motivate me on those days where self-motivation isn't quite enough.”

“Wonderful studio, the staff are always very helpful, the coaches are involved and motivating and the studio is always very clean. A few things to note, they almost exclusively run the 2G format. You will be hard pressed to find a 3G class. They do offer a lot of lift/strength classes which I personally love. However there aren't any extras to be found. The restrooms don't contain hygiene stations, and being a tier 2 studio they don't provide free towels either (to be expected). You're going to want a towel too because they're kinda stingy with the AC here. Oh, did I mention all the coaches are GREAT, because they really are!”

“awesome gym to work out at. nicest people in the world and some real deal bodybuilders who also are very nice with helping out when they’re not in the middle of a lift and even then they might come over to you and kindly give you a tip on form.”

“Crossfit Charlottesville is an excellent place to train. Ive been part of a few different Crossfit gyms as I travel often with work, and this is by far one of the best. Jon and his staff are concerned with athlete safety, first and foremost. They provide a clean environment for athletes of all levels to workout. Class area as well as open gym area provide a space for people who want to train with a class or on their own. Equipment allows for a variety of different programming to be completed. White boards for writing personal workouts down and individual rags for cleaning all add to the little things that make this place a great gym.Onsite showers are a big plus.Jon and his coaches are all committed to following programing and working hard. They are all in great shape and push their members to be their best as well. I really enjoy working out here!”

“I have trained with Hyam at Clay Fitness in 2015 and with Suzy in 2018 and now with Eve the current owner - she is not only a great trainer but she also knows body mechanics and tailor-makes each session for me, She is extremely attentive to good posture and form be it weights training or core exercises and challenges me in the most thoughtful ways. She has taught me to listen to my body appreciate and work with it. Training with Eve is truly the highlight of my week especially during COVID.”

“I'm a 70 year-old man who has worked out for 45 years, in gyms on four continents. To me, ACAC is the thinking person's health club. It is run by people who are managers who also happen to be enthusiastic about health and fitness. Standards are high in every area -- maintenance, employee expertise, programs and equipment. This is the place other gym owners need to study.”

“Favorite gym on grounds. Just missing some equipment that would make it perfect (leg press, chest supported row). Go here for barbell and dumble work. Plenty of power racks. Also has a prowler sled.”

“A wonderful facility! Terrific indoor swimming pools, great classes and very supportive staff and trainers. A little pricey on the membership but well worth the value especially if you like to swim year round!”

“Everyone I've met has been super. I'm doing a small-group training class with Victoria Musselman, who is absolutely awesome. I haven't worked out in many years and Victoria is very supportive. She has taught me proper form as we go through our workout and encourages me to slow down or stop if I need to, so I don't injure myself. It's like having my own cheerleader. They have all the equipment I need and just the right amenities. I'm very comfortable with the price and I appreciate that I'm not paying for a fancy gym with things I don't need or use.”

“I just joined and I'm loving it! I worked with a trainer for maybe a decade or more when I lived in another state, but when I moved back to Virginia, I wasn't as motivated. I joined a large fitness organization (twice!) and it just wasn't for me. I happened to see Anytime Fitness when I was picking up my dog and I checked it out. It has all the equipment I used in my former gym but on a smaller scale. The staff is very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. I have yet to see it crowded, which is great. People seem to come with a mental to-do list and get the job done. Perfect! And I can see my car from the window.”

“snap fitness is the absolute best! You won’t find a better gym at this price where you can have whatever you want - either community and friendships or solo training. It has something for everyone. It’s always clean. Even when it’s on the busier side there is plenty of free equipment and space to get the workout of your choice in.As someone who has crazy and varied work hours, being able to go to the gym at any time of day or night has been such a bonus.Plus, the managers are all super friendly! I’ve become good buddies with them just in my few months of being a member. I’ll rep snap till I die ?”

“I LOVE Zoom. The instructors and workers are so kind and make an effort to learn your name. The lights in the cycling studio are so fun and definitely my favorite compared to other studios. They also give cold, eucalyptus (or a similar scent) scented wash cloths after the class which I love. I love the sculpt classes and have heard great things about the fight and train classes. I wish there was a studio like this near DC as well! 10/10”

“My favorite spot when I loved in Charlottesville. The menu is filled with so many delicious vegan options, and the customer service is great! The employee who helped me was very kind and helped me navigate the menu with ease. I decided to try the Corner Colada with Ginger (for an extra .65 cents) and it was so tasty. The drink had a cool sweetness and a dull tanginess that was very satisfying. I also appreciated the establishment's Feng Shui, which added to the overall experience. Lastly, I was happy to see that they accept different forms of payment, making it very convenient for customers.”

“Pretty nice. Pretty pricey but lots of nice things that most gyms don't have.Oddly they just got rid of their only Olympic barbell and now have zero Olympic barbells, despite having bumper plates for Olympic lifts.”

“I've been going here for a month and I've really enjoyed this gym. They have everything you need for weightlifting. The cost is reasonable and everything I've needed has always been there. Would love to have towels for wiping down machines, but otherwise this gym is perfect.”

“Lived in and around Charlotteville for a long time but first year going to this pool. My 3-year old daughter has really blossomed being able to use this outdoor pool almost every day. She dives under water, jumps off the diving board, swims distances under water, and just loves swimming. Great facility and many of the life guards and staff are very personable and know my daughter and always make a special effort to say hi to her. If you have kids it’s a great way to get them exposure to swimming.”

“Great gym with tons of available equipment ranging from cardio to weight lifting. Downstairs they have dance studios, a pool, basketball court, rowers and stretching areas. The total cost per month for one person is $63 and $90 for two people in the same household. A great deal when you consider what you get relative to the price for this area.”
