“Visited here back in late September when we were visiting family. The folks here took great care of us. Spent time explaining each bourbon and rye. All of them were bottled in bond, which meant some powerful whiskey. Sipped the sampler of three bourbons and then the curator / bartender / guide ( not sure if any of those titles adequately describe how attentive to us they were) saw that although I liked all of them and had difficulty deciding my favorite, she gave me a different sample of the rye. Loved the spicy hit of the bnb rye. Then I headed out to the porch. What a view. Finest most relaxing afternoon I had in a while. Beautiful views and great whiskey. Took a bottle of rye home but now wish I lived close enough to get 3 more. November now and that bottle has been gone for several weeks.”

“The employees at the ABC are always nice and funny. I joke with them every time I come in. The store is well organized and well stocked. Sometimes there's some interesting characters in the Kroger parking lot but just park close to the ABC instead.”

“This is a great store with great pizza. I got a 8 topping pizza for just $12.00. There wings are great too. The best part about the food is that you know it is always clean and fresh. The people there are nice and always ask how I’m doing. I will not go to other stores when I’m in Charlottesville.”
“Harris Teeter is a fantastic grocery store. They have many high-end food items that are reasonably priced and only found at high-end grocery stores. They have a lot of specials for seniors that really add up and provide a lot of savings. Their quality of produce is excellent and their items and their aisles are always fresh.”
“First time visiting a Virginia ABC. I was a bit disappointed in the small selection until I realized how ABCs are stocked by the state. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with a lot of information. I would definitely go back to this location.”
“Small, but well stocked store. Competitive prices. My husband was able to purchase the spirits he wanted. I had hoped to get a few bottles of wine, but they only carry a small selection of local wine. The gentleman was helpful and directed us to Wagmans nearby for more selection of wine.”
“Great staff until people are asking me how many times ive been there that day, then off the clock cuss out my girlfriend. I prefer beer in the first place, thankyou. If being nasty comes with a smile, you oicked the right place. i don't need the comments for me shopping there or anywhere it seems so innocent, but to the point of discomfort. It's not professional. Dare i say narcissistic. Like i said. I prefer beer. Leave personal problems at the door. Idk if friendly discrimination is a thing. All i know is crooked smiles with ill will and normal service like anywhere else. Not much of a valid complaint. Tbh. I come in peace. Leave me alone. If you know your abc's you are guaranteed to learn every officer A-Z. Real facts i know them enough to drive safe. It offends me saying what is this your fourth time in the store? “The Virginia Shoppe is heaven, especially for holiday, host and corporate gifts as well as well curated gift baskets. Everything is from Virginia so when you shop there you support local artists, wine & cheese makers and peanut farmers. The owner Tiffany has the best personality and visiting her alone will sparkle your day. You can also call and ask them to create a gift basket for you. This is a wonderful store that I have been going to for 20+ years and it never disappoints.”
“This has one of the single best selections of any ABC stores in the area, with great staff and great parking. Always happy to give advise and help people find what they are looking for, or order it for them.The only one with more specialty items is on West Main, which is a little less convenient to get to, but really worth the trip if you can't find something here.”
“I had no clue where to begin to find the brand I was going to purchase. It's been 5 years since I was at an ABC. I asked the employee and he immediately knew exactly what I was looking for and as I was walking he was verbally guiding me and I went directly to it. He knew exact aisle, plus how far down it was on the aisle. Very impressive and helped me greatly!”
“Harris Teeter is consistently more expensive than other grocery stores so I rarely stop in, but I had a great experience here! The place was clean, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh lilies they had in the women’s bathroom in addition to it being spotless.”
