“If you aren't shopping at the Grand Market, what are you even doing with your life? Haha
Seriously though, we are obsessed with this place. The guy who runs it is so friendly and helpful. The prices are more than fair and the selection is the best around. Do yourself a favor and stop in!”
“The staff is unbelievably friendly, the food is great and we have never had a single mistake made on our orders which are often fairly large and detailed in 'special requests'.”
“The Market at Bellair is an absolute gem! Their pre-made breakfast tacos are fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect grab-and-go option for a busy morning. The sandwiches are also top-notch, made with high-quality ingredients and always satisfying. On top of that, their rewards program is an incredible value, making it even easier to keep coming back. The staff is friendly, the selection is great, and it’s easily one of the best spots in town for a quick, delicious meal. Highly recommend!”
“It was so cool shopping here, I'm excited to return. Love the fact that they had options for pasture-raised organ meats. The scrapple was so delicious and nutritious!
edit: hope the turkey offal sticks around; fool-proof to cook and a great price too, thank you”
“Good local corner market. Nice selection of niche items. You'll pay for the selection and proximity. Sandwiches are good but don't expect to get one if they are very busy, outside of lunchtime, or within an hour of closing. Good place to pick up a few needed groceries.”
“This is an excellent grocery store in Charlottesville. In every aspect..far superior to the competition. You should definitely visit the market cafe if you haven't already. Wegmans wins!!”
“Lovely store. Looks a little dated on the outside, but inside it’s clean and organized. Good selection for Chinese veggies, tofu products, dumpling, sauces, spices, and frozen products. It doesn’t have a fresh meat or seafood counter but I typically get those from other grocery stores anyway.”
“I recommend checking dates on things before you buy them. A lot of stuff is expired. What is not is a great selection of things overall, cheap prices and kind staff. Very quick checkout process and was not too crowded. Just remember to bring a quarter!”
“Asked for a sableye (Pokemon) cake to celebrate my husband beating cancer. Taylor went above and beyond. Not only was this cake beautiful and detailed but it was delicious too!”
“I live right next to a Food Lion in Ruckersville, but I'll drive to this location because the store is much cleaner, the staff are genuinely concerned about the customers. The location near me not even close to looking as clean as the other location, and the staff are the absolute worst. It's like they're there because they need to be, not because they want to be. Not a friendly environment.”
“Harris Teeter is a fantastic grocery store. They have many high-end food items that are reasonably priced and only found at high-end grocery stores. They have a lot of specials for seniors that really add up and provide a lot of savings. Their quality of produce is excellent and their items and their aisles are always fresh.”
“Go to Safran in the back!!! Foods of all nations is the best grocery store and the new addition of the Moroccan restaurant is so great. The owner is unbelievably kind and his falafel is SO GOOD.”
“Workers are fantastic 👏🏾 the store stays stocked up. Can't ask for anything more and can't please everyone. I remember when I first moved to Charlottesville Va went to Food Lion in Pantops I asked Mika 😊to help me on the machine for the Food Lion card. She stopped right there on the spot and helped me until it was finished. I was having a bad day with my moving to Charlottesville Va, she brighten up my day with her kindness, 💯thanks Mika! I'm socially awkward at times! It took me so long to ask for your name! 🙄that was awesome 👌🏽 she was so very caring 💯 thanks so much... almost forgot to tell y'all that.☺”
“A quiet and cozy place. And comfortable environment. And very friendly service.. Thank you?? for your work? and service. God??? bless you always??”
“I love this store!!! Wish I'd known it was there sooner. Love the variety of items and all the fresh foods. Staff has always been pleasant. Do wish it were a bit cheaper, but aren't we all looking for deals these days?? Sales are great and lot of items other stores don't have.”
“The manager, Mike, was so helpful, kind, AND FUNNY! I didn’t imagine that I’d have so much fun grocery shopping after work. He helped me find all the things I couldn’t. Thank you, Mike!!”
“Veronica who works at the Amazon returns kiosk here is truly the sweetest employee ever! Seamless return experience.
The store is also clean, well-stocked, and fairly priced. We are new to the area and think this is our favorite grocery store option :)”
“Interesting treasure trove of spices, halal meats and prepared foods from international markets. I can heartily recommend the frozen garlic naan bread if you make your own curries?.”

“-Huge variety of African products
-fresh grilled mackerel is delicious
-large selection of frozen meats and fresh veggies
-very friendly owners willing to help with anything”
“Best place to get bamboo and awesome little treats you cant find elsewhere. They have chichory coffee, togarashi and dark soy sauce. It has what you need to level up your asian recipes.”
“Nothing fancy but everything you need on the cheap.
I swear though, they have someone follow me around and discontinue all the things I buy! I guess it makes me try new things but I still go elsewhere to pick up my favorites that they've closed out.”
“Harris Teeter is consistently more expensive than other grocery stores so I rarely stop in, but I had a great experience here! The place was clean, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh lilies they had in the women’s bathroom in addition to it being spotless.”
“This is the best Food Lion on this side of town. It is always clean stocked and the Staff is always nice. I always have a choice between this one or 5th St and I always go to this one.”
“Quiet little local shop with many food items based out of Mexico. A wonderful kitchen cooking up working man dishes of Latino flavor and money services to Latin America.”
“I always swing by when I’m up that way on the way to work and get breakfastMost of the time I call ahead a little bit ahead of time, so I don’t have to wait but the bacon egg and cheese croissant can’t be beat LOL”
“05-2025
Under New Management!
Food is awesome!
This is an extension of Lucky 7 on Market St.
Excellent selection of lunch specials!
04-2019
One of the nicer convenience stores in the area.”
“Still the best gas and cheapest for Kroger card members around. Just buying from Kroger with my groceries, no complaints with those and prices either, plus I think another place I usually get about 30cents to $1 off fuel. Depends on how much I spend at the grocery store. It's no big deal, need to eat but saves me at the pumps!”
“Have been using Giant for the past 10 years since my sister inlaw shared her experiences with me. By far the best in the area. I have moved to another county, but still use Giant. 5 stars!”
“Very welcoming atmosphere, the employees are good people and their smile goes without saying. I also find bread, cookies, and peppers there. And well, to send money to Mexico, equally. Very good place”
“It's like the granola/traveled version of TV dinners and specialty items. They don't have name brand things. They have things you have never heard of. Very unique and everything I have bought from there is delicious 😋 If you like queso, they have a good one in the refrigerated section. Yum. We love Trader Joe's. AND it's cheap.”
