“This is usually my go to place for my shopping needs. Living in a small rural town, options for shopping locally tend to be limited but I always try to buy what I can at this store in Clintwood. The staff is amazing, I have a service dog, Rolo, and all the employees know him by name and he knows them. He especially loves one in particular her name is Betsy, I try to organize my schedule around when she's working so he can see her ?. She is also in my opinion the best employee at this store. She is always super helpful and very professional and courteous in performing her duties on the job. The manager there is also top notch, we had an issue one time and she addressed it very professionally and promptly. The store is always clean and organized. What else can I say? This is by far the best store in Clintwood!! And the best Dollar General I have ever shopped in!!”
“People know your Name, they are all Professional, There Meat Department is well managed, Alot of Good Deals in the Meat deptment, In the cooler, Bottom Shelf ,Right by the Doors to the Back of the store. If you need help they will help you even if they don't work in that Department. The Deli is Like a Restaurant They have Quick stuff as well as Burgers and Fries Pizza amongst other things All made FRESH To Ordered. They so keep an Eye on all there Perishable Foods to Keep new FRESH Ideas in Stock, it's not a Giant Store ,Nor is it Small A wide Selection of most Idems that you would find at the larger chains Like Food City and Walmart.It is a Staple and a Kept part of our town of 1,000 people, but people will come from out of state to get there Deals when Certain sales happens.it is a Grocery store that is big enough to have what you want and need without having A Pharmacy or bank inside of it. It's is by far the Biggest and Best Velocity there is and the Customers and Employees are Top notch , when you go there you can even ask A customer for alil assistance if nessesary, if all the Employees are busy, for People Who doesn't even live near Elkhorn City I encourage you to ride up and shop ,an new sale about every week the Idems Vary but they take your Groceries to your car for you and it's just a Friendly Atmosphere, even if you don't know anyone else in the store at least one Person and 2 Employees Will say Howdy or how ya doing or just hello, it's like a MOM and POPS store For the 21st century, meaning everything you need to purchase,kind Customers Fantastic Employees, but set in a New facility, with wider selections But Still having that Small town Generosity and Pride from Their Employee's, I went there an hour ago I got on got what I needed got out, I Know I Plugged this Store Velocity Market Of Elkhorn City Pretty Hard, but I am just over 40 and it has been a strong Staple of our community, When half a Dozen other Grocery stores have come and gone in my life TIME, Velocity Market Still stands and is Still Doing Good Business For A Good reason, Because it's our Hometown Feel-good Supermarket, and I Suggest if you haven't been There before, Then you should just give them a try for yourselves. “I have never liked this location. It's hard to get in and out if you have a trailer on your vehicle. Most of the employees are nice, there was a few over the years that were either stupid or disrespectful. I do however like food city gas n go gas.”
