They mainly only do sandwiches but those sandwiches clearly use quality, flavorful ingredients and was made very quickly. They have a potato-bun style gluten free bread that tastes excellent and holds together, too.

But because they're part of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, they receive some truly rare beers that not even the best beer shops can get their hands on! Prices are fair. “Gary at Total Wine Springfield, VA was absolutely fantastic. My fiancé and I came in to buy wine for our wedding and were lucky enough to be helped by him. He was charismatic, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to help us find the right wines. Gary introduced us to several brands we had never heard of and took the time to educate us along the way. Thanks to his recommendations, we skipped buying 14 bottles of the same Château Ste. Michelle Riesling and instead walked out with 17 bottles of Gary’s favorite picks from that week. “If you ever find yourself wandering into ABC Liquor Store, pray you get Sandra and Samuel on shift. These two are like the dynamic duo of generosity. Not only do they know every drink under the sun, but they also have a PhD in “Randomly Giving Free Liquor.”
I swear, I walked in for one bottle of wine and left feeling like I’d just won a mini jackpot. Sandra gave me a wink and a free sample, Samuel tossed in a tiny bonus because he said, “Why not?” At this point, I’m half expecting them to start a side hustle called “Liquor for Laughs”.
If you want excellent service, a few laughs, and maybe even a free drink or two, ABC Liquor with Sandra and Samuel is your new favorite happy place. Just don’t be surprised if you leave thinking, “Did I just make new best friends at a liquor store?””

“My husband loves this place. He knows everyone here by first name. During Covid it was hard but he said that the employees would stand outside with the customers and talk with them so things ran smoothly. Above and beyond isn't a strong enough statement.”
“I do have an ABC store two minutes away but if I drive three more minutes, I can go to this location. The one closer to me is fine, but it is a bit of an older store. That being said, this one always has French pastis in stock & on the shelf; Pastis is similar to Italian Sambuca or Greek Ouzo but not quite the same, lol. Sambuca is made from elderberries, Ouzo is made from distilled grapes & aniseed, & Pastis is made from anise, star anise & fennel. The store only has Pernod, which we do like, but you can special order Ricard, which is mine & my French hubs preference; they are from the same company & are both anise-flavored spirits that have their roots in absinthe, but they taste different enough from each other. Pernod is the closet to Absinthe & the company, Pernod-Ricard does, in fact, make real absinthe as well. Look up the history, it's actually an interesting story of how Pastis came about. But I digress, lol. Pastis is an anise-flavored apéritif, or apéro as the French call it, & it is a digestif (aides in digestions). It is typically drank before a meal & served over a couple ice cubes & diluted with water so that it becomes beautifully cloudy & almost a golden, iridescent yellow. Pernod is made from distillates of star anisé (on of my fave spices), fennel, & 14 other botanicals such as coriander, mint, chamomile, & Veronica to name a few. Pernod has a low licorice content which sets it apart from Ricard, which has a more pronounced licorice flavor I must say the staff here is super friendly & the female manager is the best; she always has a big smile on her face. FYI ~ if you want liquor in VA you must purchase it from the ABC store aka Alcohol & Beverage Control Authority.”
“It's so quiet in here, felt like shopping for liq in a library lol. they had a nice clearance section, bought peppermint rumchata for $15, normally double that price. spiked egg nog for $5. they have a nice selection overall.”
“My daughter and I were forced to walk down Livingston Road at night, when our ride from the bus stop left us stranded. My daughter fell and hurt herself. We saw the VFW and walked up to use the phone. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. They let me call a ride on the house phone and waited outside with us until the car arrived. They even brought us a water! We can’t thank everyone enough for their kindness. We will be back. We owe everyone a round. Thank you Joel. Thank you all for your service.”

“Expensive. Little choice. This is because Virginia has a state monopoly on alcohol. In neighboring states [DC, Maryland] there is more choice and prices are lower (competition). Delaware has no competition, since there is no sales tax”

“It's a well-run store. Their website claimed they had some liquors that they didn't have in stock, which was disappointing to drive here only to be told that the website is incorrect. But other than that, nice people and knowledgeable about what they do carry. They also have sales from time to time, so good to check back and see if something you like is now less expensive”
