“This is one of the most upscale and most expensive thrift stores I ever went to on a military base & in general. The staff is one of the most professional and knowledgeable in customer etiquette and in organizational & pricing skills. They are very thorough in curating & displaying high quality items, researching the items displayed, and placing a fair price on items sold. Some of the items are priced at what may seem outrageously expensive yet it is not. Mint condition or well known high quality items are priced at 50% (most of the time) of their selling price online used or new ( at this thrift store’s highest amount price). I found an elegant Mikasa bowl for $8 there that seemed over priced, yet it is selling for $60 online used and a discontinued style.If you want dirt cheap and super low prices, you are better off going to a yard sale, typical thrift store, gimme a five, or general dollar store for a bargain or steal if you want items at a low price. If you are looking to resell items for profit, I would NOT recommend this place as well. According to my experience, the most superb deals and low priced items sold here are usually low key high quality luxury brands and not desired or well known by the general public.Once in a blue moon, you will find rare and spectacular items at a stellar price; even though, you might not realize it until you research or know the item’s worth. I have purchased a vintage Rolex brand leather - brand new wallet with fine detailed & metal engraved hardware for only $4 there. I just bought it because it was red, real leather, and well made. I also found a low key yet high quality British luxury brand - new leather - wallet for $3.75 there too. Retro style curvy wood bar chairs for $35 each - was one of my most desirable finds here. I couldn’t find the exact chair online because it might be vintage or no longer manufactured. The closest duplicate to it was priced at $244 a chair and had an unattractive cut out design on the chair back.Their book selection is always amazing and always have a buy two books & get one free deal. I always find the best giant coffee table photography books there and fascinating books. Another rare yet wonderful find here is vintage vinyl records in mint condition for $1 each.It took me a long time to write a review for this store, because I didn’t think it was like your usual thrift store. It seemed that most of the items I was drawn to were consignment boutique or antique store prices - not at my price range except for the books and certain items. I realized this thrift store excels in customer service and had a lot of hidden gems & high quality items in the end that people usually disregard.”

“Located onboard JBAB, the Navy Marine Corps Thrift Shop is a wonderful place to find all sorts of items. Clothing, books, household goods, sports gear, and uniforms. One needs a U.S. military ID to purchase uniform items.”

“This is one of the more compact goodwills I have been to in the area. The parking lot for this location is small but with plenty of parking. Once inside the store, you will find a large selection of women's and men's clothes and shoes along with an ample house wears section. It has very small children's clothes, toys, and even smaller books sections. Like other goodwills in the area prices are fair. I would prioritize coming here if looking for clothing our housewares.”

The only downside is that there aren’t open fitting rooms and they removed most of their mirrors so it’s really tough seeing how things will look, and kind of discourages trying things on…”

“I had a wonderful experience at Lorton Attic! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful from the moment I walked in. I stopped by to pass some time while browsing for blazers, and ended up enjoying myself far more than I expected. “i'll guess i'll start with this as a story (my testimonial if you will) so i had just moved from front royal to alexandria in the fifth grade of elementary school (yeah with mrs brown with her catch phrase save the drama for your mama and in hindsight maybe learning it could be a 'sanctuary city') my parents and i were looking for some cleats for weight league football (it was the bucknell tigers i think 75lb the next up from 'ankle biters' as a offensive lineman) and i found a pair that i thought after that all my troubles would be gone (later getting my military benefits that solved basically everything) so today i have my military benefits (eg paycheck healthcare health insurance etc) and am a mostly happy worry free veteran (a huge part as a kid was mil beneficiary kids in public school guiding me to maybe a better future to hear warnings or suggestions too) maybe things like those cleats helped me get to where i am today (home owner too and a pretty good car that i have to pay off) it was actually a red pair of baseball cleats but i wore them for a few games and got my parents money's worth out of it and met a neighboring business in the process and they were warm gracious and kind and realso there's three personalities (i think those are all the 'old heads' here) i like here a korean veteran a light skinned manager and a black female cashier they're all very helpful and charming and inject style and taste to this place with good personalities and good attitudesso through the years i've had some great times here for example i remember once before i left for the army i found a awesome unisex leather jacket (it was dark red and had stitches all up the back and may have been a little like brad pitt in fight club before rethinking if that was a good movie or not) while i was rock and roll skinny (btw there were many things i saw here that i wanted that i was certain would help me i don't know if it was the kindness of charitable donors or social workers community efforts to guess but there's been times where their selection really nailed it) later when i was about to move to luray i found another leather jacket that was pretty chill um it reminded me of a picture of a newer music group i saw twice the orwellsone story was when i was on cavalier drive which is sort of a famous neighborhood in a way that's where there's some long term locals at like i think the founder of the 29 skate crew thing so i saw one family (the wife of a couple who lived really long) would regularly come here and load up with that in mind what i later thought was if it works for them it'll work for me so when i was having my awesome lively artistic days on the block (regular dc nightlife or hobbies too ergo family barbeque movies i shot) i'd come here and load up on some stuff to bring home sometimes just the novelty of it but there were times where i'd really read into it and think 'this is a great deal' 'this looks like this will actually work' 'this is really thought provoking' 'this'll probably circulate and it'll get used' 'yeah that makes sense' 'that saves me some time' 'this is better than the alternative'there could be a lot of good aspects and traits (firm prices quality goods rarities um) here that i appreciated i found some vinyl records for exampleam vets are by the fort hunt neighborhood and the newer costco i've rode my bicycle here before it's farther from outside the gate of fort belvoir it's off rt 1 it's on sherwood hall lane also it's by some section 8 housing and a church and police department too and the library is further outi've donated here before and thought that was probably rewarding too also the military style here is cool to think of that influence some korean things i really like are the barbeque another would be the celeb irwin winkler he did rocky”

“What can I say... Thrifting a.k.a. recycling is the way to go. I can't tell you how many things I find that are brand new with tags & this location is no different.I went in specifically looking for some French onion soup crocks, and I found them in brand new condition $3.99 a piece whatta baaaaahhhgin!This location has a bunch and I mean a bunch of brand new with tags George Mason University spirit wear aka shirts & sweatshirts, so if that's your U then go get some gear here for dirt cheap...waaaay cheaper than the campus store!I will say I find Salvation Army, at times, a bit more expensive than Goodwill or Unique but they also have a different selection so you just need to dig. This location also has a drive-through drop off for donations, which I utilize all the time, and they actually retrieve it from your car for you which is amazing. Profits are re-purposed into the programs that they support and used for the good of all concerned.”

“I had to drive to Fairfax to pick up an item on FB marketplace place. on the way home I did a search for thrift shops in the area and this was one of the few places on my way home. Typically I don’t shop at goodwill because I don’t find their prices and items to be of much value but I decided to stop and check it out. I’m glad I did. I found a great 5 person tent in good condition for $12.99. The furniture was also nice and fairly priced, I found the clothes to also be fairly priced, at other thrifts it’s not uncommon now to find jeans priced at $14-16 which is what I pay for new jeans at Ross. If you’re in the area it’s certainly worth a look 👀!”

“If you want really great stuff, gotta come really or come often because lots of people know this is the place to go. But with a little effort you can get incredible items at insane prices. Stick to the right hand side when you walk in, the booths on the left are fancy botiques, not thrift. All the way on the left is a tiny little mom and pop restaurant though and they're awesome too!”

“Lovely place , lovely treasures. Some products are shockingly high priced. The ladies are wonderful. But every now and then one of the volunteers is simply unpleasant. Today one with very short hair in her late 60s was focused on trying things on herself, then made some jokes in poor taste to another shipper about buying blouses from someone who retired , then stating to a colleague , in fact the donor had a funeral but she lied to make it for a lovelier info tot he shopper?!!! lol as if the shopper and all of us could not actually hear her! Back to the stuff , super cute, but a bit over the top priced. A Dooney and bourke, super used goes for 225, when you can buy a brand new one on their site for the same or less. The rest of the ladies were superb! Patient , attentive, Excelent customer skills.”
