I was so hesitant to take them anywhere because one of my pups need handling, as she can get a little aggressive and neither one of them have ever gotten groomed. “For The Love of Pete is the cutest little pet store on Libbie and Grove! After reading Emily B's review below, I decided to come here and check out the dog booties because one of my dogs, too, has been slipping on our hardwood floors. I loved browsing through all of the cute items. There's seriously something for every pet and pet parent. The young lady who helped me out was super nice and we ended up bonding over our dogs as well as us both being pregnant haha. I'm so glad that I came in to check it out because it'll definitely be on my list of places to go while in the area!”

“If you're looking for packman frogs, this is the place! My husband and I found the sweetest little albino strawberry packman frog for our daughter here. The young ladies that helped us knew their stuff! They placed him on hold for us and helped make the surprise so much fun. Our girl was thrilled. The shop associates knew what we'd need for proper food, they told us all about his temperament and how he preferred to eat, found us proper substrate and helped us keep it nice and moist for our new friend and his ride home too. “Oh no I'm starting my review and can't remember anyone's names to thank, but want to share that I've recently started going to the Ashland location for bunny equipment & accessories and I have been happy with the service every time. My little bunny is so much fun to spoil and Petco has a great selection of fun things for small mammals to chew and play with, as well as corner litter boxes litter, scoops, etc. I just bought her the little bed in the photo I am posting with this review and she immediately climbed in it and bunny-loafed. If they are out of stock in the store it's easy enough to order it online and have it shipped directly to your home. I've always found the Ashland store to be clean and well stocked. I'm very impressed with how healthy and well-maintained the for- sale animals are. Staff seem to be young adults in general, with enthusiasm for their jobs. It's exactly the right mixture of employees available to help but not a ton of pressure to interact until check out if you don't need anyone to find what you stopped in for. I've been there with all of my kids and staff was friendly and kind even though it can be a lot to see excited kids come thru the door (my kids like to run over and stare at the cages and aquariums of pets and fantasize about bringing all of them home). I get a good feeling when any business understands that children are part of the population, and treats them well, because honestly those are their future customers after all. YES: KID FRIENDLY”

“I have done several training programs at the Short Pump Pet Smart and I loved it. Sarah has done such a great job training my little puppy from puppy training to advanced training. We will begin trick training soon. I took my dog to another trainer before Pet Smart/Sarah, and my puppy learned a lot more with Sarah. I highly recommend them.”

“I placed a mobile order for pick up since the petco at my location was out of a certain item. Ken handed me the order neatly packed and labeled. I walked back into the store since I needed one more item and as I looked around everything was stowed neatly and the whole store was the cleanest petco i have ever seen. I stayed and got more than the item I needed since they had impressive varieties of every category. As I was checking out Ken was courteous and talked to me about one of the toys I got. He was an engaging and a professional employee. I may return to this location even though it’s not near me just because how pleasant it was.”

“I just want to give thanks and appreciation to Hannah, who was working the cashier register/helping in the fish department for her assistance in getting my XXL dog crate into my car while I had my toddler in tow.She saw a gentleman, that I wasn't familiar offering his help and then reminded me I could bring my car up to the sidewalk instead which was MUCH MUCH more safe way to load my crate into my car.I just thought that was above and beyond looking out for her neighbor. Not that I should assume the worse in men but it is always better to be safe than sorry.”

“always friendly staff. It’s a little out-of-the-way for me especially when I’m going to pick up things and never ever get an email telling me that it’s ready so I have to call the store repeatedly. It’s not their fault but once you go in because you really cannot expect anybody to come outand deliver it to your car, it’s pretty quickly done, and the people are really cool.”
