“Super friendly and helpful, great products! Definitely more of a dog than cat store, but still got some great food for my cat. Plus, that's in the name! Shop local!!”

“This place is incredible. The facilities are exactly what you need to wash a big husky like I have and the employees and owners are even better. Their hours changed and I didn’t know and they offered to stay late so I could wash my dog. Didn’t take them up on that as my planning should have been better, but the appreciation I have is still valid.

They close at 7pm so if you aren’t a member just make sure to check the hours!

Membership might be the next move for us!!”

“What an awesome place to wander into while my husband was getting his haircut next door. Great selection of chews and food/snacks for my berner. The owner and staff were very knowledgeable and very supportive. I appreciated the conscious selection of food options for pets and was happy to see the brand I had selected for my dog years ago was up to their standards. Will definitely be returning- greatly appreciated the numerous samples they provided for Bruce to try.”

“I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with Dog Lovers Obedience School. My dog, Bingley, has grown enormously through all of the different types of training he’s received — from their excellent group classes (puppy, beginner, and intermediate) to the half-day training sessions he attends while I’m at work, and the board-and-train programs when I’m out of town. I’ve learned so much from their team as well. The trainers are patient, knowledgeable, and truly committed to each dog’s progress. I can’t recommend them highly enough!”

“Our dog Luca was found to have a mass in his ear. After speaking with Dogma, they found time to bring him in to have a bath before his surgical consultation. Even with his tender ear, they were able to schedule him and bathe him on his schedule. No rush, no pressure. I cannot say enough good things about every person at Dogma. How lucky we are to have found them.”

“The best experience! The owner is so cool, he explained to me all that I needed to know. I found what I was looking for! I love the experience! If you are looking for corals or fish come over here you won’t be disappointed!”

“We shop here once a week along with our regular grocery run. Their prices on cheese, bread, peanut butter, and other staples are excellent. We usually end up saving $50 to $100 every trip. Great place for everyday basics.”

“We purchased a specialty dog collar and matching leash from Marley's Barkery and found them both to be of superior quality. Our dog is a 60 lb, English Bull Terrier mix and is as strong as an ox so we needed something sturdy to hold her and was still somewhat stylish. The fabric colors are quite brilliant and the special "EOD" logo and design are very clear and true. We couldn't be happier with the purchase and our pooch carries a symbol for a great cause. Thank you Marley......”

“Love the SPCA shop and stop by it regularly. They have lots of really cool toys, leashes, treats etc. They’re mission is the best and supporting that makes going there even more worthwhile.”

“Their tofu litter is fantastic! My new favorite litter. It doesn't track, isn't dusty, and the cats like it. It lasts nearly twice as long as my previous clumping clay litters. Easy to scoop, easy to handle.”

“I had an interview there and I was very impressed by how clean the facility was and how the folks working there seemed really happy. I believe they make a top notch product.”

“The people are great. They're always knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They make it what it is. And they should be paid more for the work they do. According to the MIT Living Wage Calculator (look it up), a living wage in Richmond for a single person with no kids is $23.30 an hour. Petco starts employees at $13 to $14 dollars an hour. Associates can make almost $19 dollars an hour. Still below a living wage. So please, do the right thing and start your employees at $20 dollars an hour, and provide avenues to increase this to a living wage asap. It's the right thing do. Time to give your employees a five star wage.”

“Great place for both salt and freshwater fish. The store is fairly big. Has a lot of different species. You can even find tarantulas and snakes here. Great place to look around. One of the larger pet stores in Richmond. Wish there were more like it around here!”

“Petco Staples Mill Road (this particular location in Henrico county— I am only referring to this location as my experience was not the same at another location ) was so loving to my sweet Cinnamon and took
great care of her! They groomed her and took their time and she looked wonderful. I lost my sweet Cinnamon, but the way they loved her will never be forgotten.”

“Our puppy Lilly has been through both beginner(puppy) and intermediate dog training classes with Sarah. She is amazing at training dogs! Lilly is excited to come to class each week. We have learned so much about dog training and dog behaviors. I highly recommend any and all classes with Sarah. We are signed up for advanced and will be adding trick classes next year!”

“Lidl is a German company with mostly private label brands, and they're consistently good. They have fresh baked breads. There are several aisles of temporary items including tools and clothing and home products.”

“I had a wonderful experience with both Malika in the grooming salon, and Vegas, the wonderful cashier. I took my chihuahua in for a grooming, and Malika was kind, patient, and even painted my pups nails which was so fun and totally unexpected. It was a wonderful service, and I will continue to book with Malika in the future. The icing on the cake was our cashier, Vegas. She showed me coupons I wouldn’t have known existed- I paid for my grooming, got two $0.99 treats and left with $12 in rewards bucks. This is a wonderful group of folks in this store, and that’s saying a lot because the staff at the Brook Rd location is great as well!”

“Better than average mexican food. Very consistent on the quality. This is probably my tenth or eleventh visit. I have food allergies and they were very careful. My peppers and onions were cooked separately and delivered on a separate plate to ensure there were no tomatoes or cross contamination. I will definitely eat here again.”

“I love the consistency of the product. The bully sticks are my dogs' favorite treat. They fulfill orders quickly and are surprisingly responsive when needed. Great job!”

“Unfortunately, Richmond doesn’t have a zoo or an aquarium, so I had the bright idea to bring my son here instead. He absolutely loved looking at the little animals and fish! I even brought my husband along, and we had such an amazing time just watching him enjoy it all. Seeing how excited he got over the simplest things made the whole trip worth it. ??”
