“Had my car shipped in from out of the country and needed a safety inspection so it could be road legal. Walked in at 1:40pm on a Wednesday, no appointment made. No wait time and they were able to do a safety inspection for my car then and there. Whole process took about 20 minutes and cost $20! Had a great view of their cat napping on their windowsill the whole time. Love that they were also only 5 minutes away. Definitely going back every year for my Safety Inspection.”
“They were awesome! 1st time visiting I needed my vehicle inspection, wind up needing a part to be replaced in order to pass the inspection. This was going into memorial day holiday so we had to wait a few days. But the day after the holiday, they got to me straight away just as they said they would. I feel it was a decent price for parts and labor. The customer service was very friendly. I forget the daughters name, but she was really nice and even took a moment to answer my off topic question. I think I'll be visiting again since I don't really have a trusted mechanic here in VA.”

“I was online screenshotting a friend about this business and I just had to write something. This gentleman has twice given me the best deal ever and he’s just a great guy! I bought a cover that snaps in 2002 when I bought my truck. It lasted about 22 years, then the snaps became too difficult for my hands and I lucked out and got a great deal on a Velcro type cap for my long bed truck when I rolled on in there a couple years ago to inquire what a new one would cost. Don’t even bother checking elsewhere!! He will do the best he can for you!! I hope you see this and I appreciate you!! ☺”
“I had an excellent experience with Fred’s Transmission, and I want to give them credit for their honesty, professionalism, and integrity.
I brought in my 2018 Kia Soul after experiencing shuddering, puttering, and jerking when braking. Before going to Fred’s, I had taken the vehicle to Colonial Kia in Chester. After test driving the vehicle, Colonial Kia recommended replacing the transmission assembly. Based on that recommendation, I started looking into replacement options and was prepared to move forward with a major transmission repair.
I contacted Fred’s Transmission, explained what was going on, and even discussed the cost of replacing the transmission. I ultimately dropped the vehicle off expecting that I was going to need a transmission replacement. Instead of just taking the job and charging me for a repair I thought I needed, Fred’s actually inspected the vehicle, drove it, and looked further into what was happening.
Fred called me back and explained that he did not believe I needed a transmission replacement. He reset the computer/shift adaptive controls, and the vehicle began driving normally again. That one step resolved the issue that had led me to believe I was facing a major repair.
That kind of honesty is rare. Fred’s Transmission could have easily charged me for a transmission replacement, especially since I came in already prepared to pay for one. Instead, they did the right thing, gave me an honest assessment, and saved me a significant amount of money.
I highly recommend Fred’s Transmission to anyone who wants a shop that will actually diagnose the issue and not just sell unnecessary repairs. They earned my trust, and I will definitely keep them in mind for any future transmission work.”

“I needed a part put on my jeep in the middle of a power outage and had a sprained wrist, so I couldn't get the power needed to secure the piece. I called Broadway and they were dark as well, but they SENT A GUY TO MY HOUSE (.5 miles away) and he had it set in ten minutes for 20 bucks.
Talk about service. This place has all my business for as long as I live in Hopewell. That's unheard of and indicative of a business that genuinely cares about the community they service.”
“Matt is fair. Period. Good work for my first experience. Diagnosed my trucks oil leak onto my alternator in 10 mins and had me quoted and scheduled in 15 mins. Started on my car first thing on the day and was in at 1030 and out by 1300. Definitely worth giving a second job to vs the BS and game of other local shops who see me coming. If I'm going to support local business I want fair and honest in return and that's what I got with City Point.”
