“A quaint and laid back sort of place. Had a good assortment of things we don't see much of where we live. The meats looked real nice and fresh and the prices were decent. They had plants and produce. Even had a checkerboard and chairs set up inside (for the menfolk to play while the wives are shopping ?). I'd like to have a place like this closer to where we live. ?”
“Spectacular market ground, competitive prices on good quality cuts of protein, local flours, honeys and produce, my go-to for Buckwheat Honey, which smells like a barn, heck, a whole farm, but it is Crazy Delicious in a funky, good to and for you kind of way, like the Stinky Cheese of Honeys, a must try item, great on bagels with cream cheese or as an addition to recipes, sauces and marinades. The darker the honey, the more beneficial and also the more antioxidants, this honey is the color of molasses! The associates are friendly and amorous from my experiences. The manager Jamie is A++!”
“Temporarily closed, due to a horrible and untimely fire that destroyed the building, Tucker's, though out of commission for now, has finally begun the rebuild. Hopefully, they will be back up and running within the next 6 months. The fire was several months ago. The community was devastated for the business and empathetic for the owners, since we lost a convenient location for many of our necessities. Stay hopeful for the soon return of a beloved country store, that's been occupied for over half a century.”
“I like this food lion. Its smaller than what I am used to, but nice. Its nice because you have amazing staff. I had great interaction with the Pepsi vendor and a worker stocking meat (Peter) I think. Hes new and was really kind and helpful.”

“Gretna Food Lion is located in a tiny town at the intersection of US route 29 and 40. As such, it is typical of that brand of stores that can be found throughout our region. Atypically, however, this particular grocery store is fortunate to serve the public with a smile, and attention to detail that makes shopping there a true pleasure. When we are on our way to a weekend at Smith Mountain lake, we usually hit this store late in the evening, just before closing time, to pick up perishable and frozen foods that wouldn't travel well over the drive from Richmond. Even at such a late hour, we always find the store to be fresh and well stocked, and the cashiers to be ready with a smile and a kind word.”

“Dollar General has been improving all the locations. If Wawa and the home section of Walmart had a baby, this location would be it. The store is really trying to be more than just a place to grab chips and soda. I prefer the location by Smith Mt Lake Parkway (bigger store). This location is small and the aisles get cramped when new inventory is being put away. The store is near Food Lion and a tint strip mall. The employees are always friendly.”
“It seems like when everybody else is out of stuff this Dollar General Store seems to have it most of the time weather is toilet paper or tuna fish there's a lot of variety and the store is always clean and the service representatives are usually friendly and always helpful”

“Wow! This place was great! I sure do love gas stations, ho ho ho! I only have one suggestion. It’s that you stock up on male diapers! But otherwise, was great! The man who was at the desk today was very kind. My kids LOVED him! Thanks again! Wish I could give it more than 5, ho ho!”

“I visit this store on occasion every week and today I admired the patience one of the workers had. A customer asked to clean something in the back,an area only employees are permitted to enter,and after being told no he acted like a complete and belligerent brat. The worker remained calm and composed and I really admire her being able to hold her tongue and remain professional. This worker has been nothing but nice in the past and always friendly and helpful. It really pisses me off that her and/or other workers would have to endure this type of treatment.”
