“Stopped here for lunch while working in South Hill, what a find!!! I got a turkey sandwhich and it was one of the best Ive had south of New York ??? simple but fresh and the bread is really good. The owner was so nice and helpful too, she told me how big the sandwhiches were (luckily cause there massive lol this is a half) and seemed to really care about making the customer happy ? she did a great job and I really appreciate it!!”

“Edit: I originally wrote this review in 2021. Four years later we've still been relying on JB Jones for our son's birthday treats. Last year we requested a Spiderman cake and it was so good he had a meltdown when we started cutting him up to eat. 😅 This year we're going with a web cake and a toy Spidey on top.

Original review below:
This little shop came through for us with some delicious cakes and cupcakes when we decided to celebrate a birthday while visiting Lake Gaston. I called in and reserved two pre-made half cakes to pick up a few hours later and they wrote a little birthday message with icing too. The yellow cake and chocolate cake were super moist and the buttercream frosting was so good. I'll definitely consider planning ahead next time and purchasing a custom-order from them in the future. There was a cute Lion King themed cake in the display case when I picked up my order that I had my eye on. The employees with whom I spoke were courteous and helpful, especially one very patient woman who I had to call back because my cell phone reception was terrible.

While waiting in line in the convenience store section to pay for my order, I was tempted to do some extra junk food shopping after spotting some birthday cake oreos on the shelf but refrained. They also had milk and other home essentials, including a cage of adorable parakeets outside the store.”

“Neighborhood store. Friendly faces. Convenient. Glad the store is still open.
It's been there for as long as I can remember. When Raye Hines opened it some 50+ years ago.”
