“Great hotel, very clean and the breakfast was fantastic. No pool or hot tube and the breakfast seating area was a little small but many food choices and it actually tasted very good. The attendant kept things full and fresh and breakfast area was exceptionally clean. Best waffles ever and they even had blueberry batter.”

“Located a very short distance off the interstate, the Bolling Wilson hotel is a gem. Lots of history, that they have written up for you to read. It's situated in Whytheville, and I'd love to go back and visit the small shops.
We were warmly greeted at the front desk, which is actually a desk, not a counter. We were offered homemade fresh cookies. Rooms are lovely, and quiet, the beds and pillows were very comfortable, and there were lots of channels on a decent TV. The restaurant/bar on site - Graze - has excellent food and a wide selection of Bourbons.
Some people complained that the elevator was small, it is, but enough room for 2 adults and their luggage. I guess some people need a negative. It was a short but lovely stay. I will return.”

“We stayed at this Tru last September for 3 weeks. Our room was great, once switched to the double room (more sq ft). The only room complaint would be no sitting area, but I was able to utilize the outdoor seating, and couches and lounge areas in the lobby. We were on the 4th floor, and I must say my 2 main housekeepers were AWESOME! Wish I had gotten their names to recognize them; they both had long black hair. The front desk was always accommodating to us, especially Doug. I hope that we come back to visit soon.”
“Updated review: upgrading from 3 (original) to 4 stars overall…. I’m happy to report good progress at this hotel. When I originally stayed here a while back, there were some things that could be improved upon. And, there has been much improvement after having had the chance to visit a few more times since.
First, the classic hotel room yeasty smell that I originally had has been gone. The smells now are very neutral. As well, I’ve not had any cleanliness issues as had originally.
Check-in fellow was cordial and efficient as well.
A little attention to the carpet cleanliness on the stairs and hallways might be good.
I’ll definitely continue staying here on my travels.
Original review: Generally speaking the room was fairly clean. Unfortunately, there were fresh urine stains on the toilet seat which hit the rating. As well, there was an odd unfavorable odor in the room. It wasn’t the classic hotel room odor. It’s hard to describe, it was similar to the smell when you open a package of yeast. Nonetheless, it didn’t sit well with me.
The fellow at check-in was friendly enough. And, the location right off I77 was perfect.”
“For an older motel it is renovated, you get 5 stars ? Conveniently off the highway and up a hill, room is spacious and clean. Great stay and easy check in on your road trip.”
“Very pleased with our one night stay here. Room was very clean, our check in was fast and breakfast was poppin and exceeded expectations. Would stay here again.
We arrived late in the evening and just wanted to get to our room. Parking was easy and well lit in the lot. There was a little bit of highway noise but we played some white noise so we could sleep well. We were at the breakfast as soon as it opened and it was well stocked.”

“Picked this hotel for a special reason and we were not let down. Normally we would by pass this one but are thankful we booked it. The place was very clean outside,inside and our room. Everything was convenient and the employees were very nice. We do travel an awful lot and we can say this hotel’s breakfast was one of the very best we have encountered. We indeed will book this hotel again in the future.”

“I unfortunately didn't get the name of the employee, however he saw me and my daughter were having a hard time getting our suitcases down the stairs and he kindly took them and brought it to our truck and put them in for us. Thank you so much!! That was so nice!!!”
“We stayed at this location in Hardeeville and it met the standards that we experienced at a Marriott in Italy. Fantastic bed, fantastic linens, fantastic down pillows, immaculate and, lest I forget, great shower.
Not so much the Fairfield here in Virginia. This one is quite disappointing so; obviously one cannot say that Fairfield Inns are always a good choice.”

“Wanted to be in VA for the last leg of my journey. Found this LOVELY place, quite by accident, and I’m very glad I did. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. They have a fire pit but the winds were too strong to have a fire during my stay; however, the owners dropped off ingredients for s’mores which we prepared in the microwave much to my granddaughter’s delight! CLEAN ROOM!”
