“I went to go renew my passport at around 3:45pm. I was doing it last minute and with no appointment. Walk in hours for passports was 9am-10am. A very kind gentleman by the name of Mr. Pham did my passport renewal anyways. He was incredibly kind and accommodating and saved me a lot of time and energy as I was doing it last minute. He was very helpful.”
“My favorite post office that I have ever visited! I ship pretty consistently and never have a bad experience here. The clerks are so fast and helpful, give those ladies a raise! Always well stocked and organized.”
“The people who work here are knowledgeable and so pleasant—they clearly get along with each other, too. Today I watched them handle a customer’s bad attitude with grace and professionalism, and they were still polite! And I take it for granted that they’re good at their work because I’ve never had an issue mailing in or out with them. So, a very easy 5/5.”
“Easily the best USPS location I’ve visited. Unlike other branches where I’ve had terrible experiences, the staff here are super polite and genuinely helpful. They actually take the time to solve your problems rather than just passing you along.”
“Needed to get my fingerprints done for a volunteer opportunity with a Fairfax County school. The closest option to my home was Hanmi Post. The location is tucked in the rear from the Main Street. The hours were serviceable, convenient and plentiful. I was in the store for less than 5 minutes, I had a scheduled appointment for 10:00 a.m., and was walking out by 10:03 a.m. The gentleman working was very soft spoken, polite and courteous. Would recommend this location if you need fingerprints done. Enjoy!”
“LOVE this post office. You can park for free — unlike many post offices. The staff is super-friendly, unlike many post offices (looking at you, River Road, Potomac!) and they are knowledgeable and efficient but not officious (looking at you again, Potomac!). Plenty of mailing stuff if you need it — plus some greeting cards and sets of cards. All the stamps. Never a line (hello Potomac, and Bethesda POs). But mostly it’s the staff.”
“One of a very few usps I would give 4 Stars. Only for the Friendly and helpful stuff.
The -1 Star is for the temperature. It was freezing in there, same temperature like outside. Also The shipping forms was not stocked and labeled, so I had to stay in the like asking for a shipping form to fill it out afterwards and then to go back to the line to send off my package. Time consuming of 45min. But I wasn’t in the rush, just freezing ? and like i said, the stuff was very nice.”
“I had a good experience here. The clerk was very nice and helpful. They had everything I needed to mail a letter promptly.
The store is clean and decently stocked.
Wheelchair and assisted mobility friendly.
Plenty of parking. Easy in, easy out.”
“Due to an error on my part, a package I sent to an address near the post office was mislabeled and delivered to the wrong building. My husband visited the post office and the staff was extremely helpful. The lady at the counter took all the information and found the correct carrier, who went back to get the package and delivered it to our home. Thank you - we truly appreciate the help!”
“Came in for a passport appointment. Was immediately helped at the window and had all the paperwork in order. That’s when I realized I forgot to bring the check to pay. They said I could also use a money order if I had a debit card on me but I didn’t so they said that as long as I could return today with a check it’d be fine and they’d add it to my application. Came back an hour later and another employee helped add the check to the application since the person who was helping me earlier was on break. The staff was super courteous and helpful. Imagine if this was the DMV, they would have made me make another appointment for another day.”
“This USPS location is fantastic. Ms Tran is the most helpful USPS person I have ever encountered. She has helped me many times, the line moves quickly and they even have a self checkout machine.”
“Abraham is our mailman. He not only takes the time to bring us the mail everyday, but he also does it with such a positive attitude that we are compelled to greet him each and every time. Abraham goes above and beyond just delivering mail. He takes the time to connect with his clients and he finds a way for us to get our packages on time and in good condition.
Whenever something is wrong, he empowers us by giving us guidance on what to do or where to go.
Abraham, we appreciate all you do for our neighborhood.
Thank you,
Gonzalo”
“I visited this post office today for a new passport, I was helped by Sunisa. 2 yrs ago she also assisted me with my kids passports. She is always so friendly and provides the best customer service. I really appreciate her making the process so easy and pleasant. Thank you Sunisa for all you do!”
“Did our daughter’s passport here and the guy who helped us was a hoot. Funny, wry and extremely efficient. Probably the best post office experience i’ve had!”

“Jovan at the front desk is wonderful, he helped me out a lot. And when a trash can was on fire outside, he jumped into action looking for a fire extinguisher, which that location didn’t seem to be supplied with. But I could tell if he did have one there, he would’ve saved the day. USPS better put some fire extinguishers in! Either way Jovan cares and he deserves a raise.”
“This five star is for PAUL and Paul only. I only visit when he’s working which tends to be weekdays. Paul is ridiculously efficient, kind, friendly and will have you in and out within five mins. If you happen to visit on no-Paul day.::Good luck.I’ve never encountered a more poorly run and serviced post office than this location on King Street. They NEVER have enough people staffed on weekends. My God, you are the sole post office in a very dense populated area and management can’t simply staff at least TWO attendants on weekends? It’s unfathomable and completely ridiculous. The lines are constantly wrapped around and out of the door. Please do better USPS.”
“So happy this is my local post office. After years of living in various places and dealing with mail workers who have not been friendly, this has been refreshing. Richard is always smiling and happy to help. The longest line I have dealt with was three people. I don’t dread mailing things.”
“This the number one Post office. Friendly team and helpful. I have been going to this post office for several years. They really take care of their customers. Best team ever!!!!”
“I am definitely giving 5 stars because of the lady who was working today around 4 PM. She provided awesome customer service and was very helpful and professional. I was sending a letter through the post office, and she guided me kindly throughout the process. She is the reason for this review. Thank you for your excellent service, ma’am!”
“I REALLY wish I lived closer to this Post Office so I could come here all the time. There were four employees working, and every one of them were lovely. Friendly, helpful, could speak other languages for those customers who needed that assistance… exceptional location.”
“I stopped by to drop off some wedding invitations and Eboni was so nice and patient with me assisting me on the correct postage to have on each envelope since they all weighed a bit different. Thank so much for your help!”
“Our postal carrier, Mohammed, is absolutely the best! He makes every effort possible to deliver mail, even in the toughest times. Also, he’s personable and knows the older neighbors. He’s great! Happy Postal Day on February 4th!”
“Passport Services! We’ve done and renewed passports for our kids here for years and today was a shockingly awesome experience :) I regret not getting the name of the man who helped us but it’s a Tuesday morning so if you’re considering getting your passport done here - try for Tuesday and maybe you’ll catch him if you’re lucky.
In and out in ten minutes. He took a passport photo of our daughter that might be the single best photo we have of her and she’s ten! And he was just a lovely person on top of that.
Thank you!”
“Pleasant, efficient staff. Experienced with international mailing forms/requirements. Small shop, but we’ll-stocked. Long waits only on tax filing days & right before Xmas when people are mailing gifts.”
“A neighborhood post office. Very grateful that we have a post office nearby. The gentleman was very helpful and attentive. Some complaints about it being closed during business hours, you have to understand smaller post offices in less busy neighborhoods are usually run by one clerk and if emergency arises they have to close the location. I’ve seen this at some other locations so it’s not unusual.”
“Today my baby had an appointment and I was nervous because I was confused about some information in the application and i had left it blank. Near to the facility plenty of paid parking spaces are available. We arrived on time to the facility and the employee told me to wait so she could inform the passport representative, we waited for two minutes when the passport representative Ms.Channel came in and greeted us. she was so professional and kind . She helped me and my husband to complete the form without confusion as she explained it well. She was so professional and supportive, with in 10 minutes all documents were submitted. We were so relaxed and relieved. I highly recommend this place due to Ms. Channel and the employees who are so professional and helpful towards their customers.”
“Based on the reviews, went to this post office for a mail issue with the lowest of expectations. However, I found the staff there to be prompt and courteous. Got what I needed in less than a minute.”
“Some things just stand the test of time, and the Dunn Loring Post Office is one of them.
My family and I lived in Dunn Loring from the late 90s through 2003, and this little post office was a constant in our lives for decades. It holds a special place in all our hearts, and when I had the chance to visit again in April 2026, the nostalgia hit me the moment I walked through the door.
It felt exactly as I remembered, the same charming, old-school small building, unchanged and unpretentious. My kids grew up coming here with me, and standing there again, I could almost picture those earlier days, with packages to send, holidays to prepare for, and always a familiar face behind the counter. In a world where everything seems to change overnight, there is something deeply comforting about a place that simply stays the same.
The staff were decent and genuinely helpful, taking care of us with a warmth that reminded me exactly why my family and I loved this neighborhood so much.
To the whole team at Dunn Loring USPS, from my family and me, a heartfelt thank you for so many years of wonderful service. You may be a small office, but to us, you were always a big part of home.
Thank you & God bless you and your family ?”
“10/10 experience. NIMA,JANET and the entire staff are beautiful people. Janet and NIMA both I had the pleasure of working with for all of my passport needs. Intsructuon were clear , coincise and not rushed. i would definately reccomend this team of women to service you and your family. ALL SMILES”
