“Love this place. Has a good assortment of food, drinks, and odds-and-ends. It's conveniently located in a relatively remote area, so before you go to Franklin or Harrisonburg, check and see if Blue Grass Mercantile has it. They also make great sandwiches and fries.”
“I’m not one for reviews, but the owner goes above and beyond. I recently moved to the area and became a semi regular. She asks for input on what I’d like to see, asks about, my family, and often offers treats to my daughter. Prices are fair and the selection of items is useful and eclectic.. especially considering the more rural location. Also, the best ham sandwiches in the county.”

“OK everyone knows what to expect in a Dollar General. But if it wasn't for this particular store I do not know where the people in the town of Monterey would go to grab those basic big store supplies lol. It was basically a Walmart crammed into the dollar store size and if ever a place or area needed it it is here. I can imagine the incredible savings by not driving twisty windy roads to the big cities from this quaint beautiful town. So yeah I'm going to give this Dollar General 5 stars because it serves a real need in this town. Do not misread this as a slight against the town lol. There is a lot to see and do here but honestly to grab a loaf of bread or a jar of peanut butter? This is perfect!”
