“I live 5 mins from old tavern. I pass it twice everyday. When I say this is one of the best country stores I've been in I mean it. Everyone's so personable and kind! You're greeted with warm welcomes every time. Have I mentioned all the food is wonderful? No they don't have Michelin stars because it's not that kind of place. You're getting country style food at a rapid pace but the reward is so delicious! Old tavern is this areas family and I appreciate them and what they do for the community. I may not be in every day like some of the old timers getting breakfast first thing in the morning but when I stop in it's always a delight! Thanks old tavern?? keep up the amazing work!”
“I am so glad I stopped here! I really liked their fried chicken! It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Their potato wedges were good too! I literally stood in a line for my lunch around 1:15 pm, so you know it's good. Their staff members were polite and kind. I'll have to go back the next time I am in town!”
“I want to personally thank the manager (my apologies as I don't know his name) as he was gracious enough to order more bait for my son & I to use fishing this late fall. Driving to Green Top is 50+ miles round trip vs 12 miles to Lucky's @ Fine Creek and I like supporting local business in Powhatan. Everyone working there is extremely friendly & willing to answer my phone calls asking if they have bait which saves me a trip in the car. Again, THANK YOU for ordering the extra bait & I'll see you this spring!”
“They make homemade eggrolls, and they are the best eggrolls I’ve ever had in my life. Their corndogs are also really good and they have some other hot food offerings. They also have some unique and amazing Arizona iced tea flavors that I have not found anywhere else. Great place to stop if you’re on a road trip or motorcycle ride.”

“This is a convenience store & gas station. I love the staff mostly. The young men that are cashiers are nice. One in particular is extremely nice & friendly.”
“I stop in here multiple times every week. I have routinely dealt with all of the cashiers and each and every one is a pleasure to deal with. Some of the nicest staff around, especially the lady that works the morning shift. High quality fresh made food, live fishing bait, and competitive gas prices. This place has increasingly gotten better over the years and I don’t see how it could improve anymore now.”

“This place is a hidden gem! You would never be able to tell from the outside how good the Spanish food is inside. Clean restrooms, polite nice people and shell 93 octane what else could you want... oh yeah and one of the nicest selections of ipas in Powhatan”

“Ok,.so first off it's a gas station, plenty of lumps available and plenty of parking with a drive thru for food. I side it's your typical Sheetz and it was very clean and restrooms were clean. Their coffee.selection is always good, I had the Colombian coffee and it was good. Service is good and they have express self checkouts that I used. They all seem to be run at a high level and this is what is consistent. Good job!”

“Best Mexican around and a lot of other stuff too. Who would have thought this fresh quality food would be in a gas station! Recommend the steak pineapple tacos and the Al pastor supreme tacos. Good custom made hot sauces at the counter too boot. 5 stars all day and night!”
