“I’ve had a great experience at Armstrong Renaissance Apartments. The staff is professional, friendly, and genuinely cares about the residents—the office staff especially goes above and beyond to help. The apartments are clean, modern, and well-maintained, with nice features like washer/dryer hookups and energy-efficient appliances.
The community feels safe and welcoming, and the location is super convenient—close to downtown, shops, and everything you need. Maintenance is quick to respond, and the common areas (like the fitness center and clubhouse) are always kept in great shape.
If you’re looking for a comfortable home with a real sense of community, I highly recommend Armstrong Renaissance!”
“I love living her. My neighbor's are great.,Not the new one.(Awful). When my friends and Church family comes..They love the look.Ouiet , peaceful and pet friendly. The office staff are great ,they love some of us but then theirs other's. The grounds are kept clean and tree and grass are kept. Some people are going too talk.but me as a person I'm people friendly. Love love it here.Yout maintenance people are doublely great.”

“The response to any issues is very appropriate. The office staff are friendly and diligent in helping residents with their problems. The surroundings are always clean, peaceful, and safe. The only downsides are that the apartments are small and old, and the area around the garbage dump is a bit messy, but these aren't issues that really bother me. I'm grateful to the apartment managers for their constant attention.”
“The Timbers is a quaint little elevated community in Bon Air.
The staff is extremely polite and responsive to any questions or concerns. It is quiet at nighttime and most neighbors are friendly.
Also, we tend to look out for each other, even if we've never spoken to each other before, other than occasional head nod as you walk passed them during the day.
Couldn't be more happy with an apartment complex.”

“Im in a rush to find a new place and either no one is answering the phones or no one has time for a walk in however I walked into South Bank not only was the inside clean and quiet but I seen ms Lechelle in the office helping others and as soon as they left she immediately stood to greet me as if she knew I would be coming ! the floorplans are beautiful especially the one bedroom I toured im from DC so I was unsure about the area Lechelle made sure I knew all the good food spots and places to walk to get fresh air . we need more property owners like her SHES AMAZING”

From the very first tour, I knew this place was something special. The team was super punctual and walked me through all the apartment options in detail — they really took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and had all the info I needed. I never felt rushed, and they made the whole experience so easy and trustworthy.
The views are seriously amazing! Whether I’m chilling in my apartment or hanging out at the clubhouse, I get to enjoy the prettiest views of the James River and all the greenery around. It's such a peaceful area, but still close to everything. You’re right next to parks and the Richmond trail, which is perfect if you love nature or just want a nice walk after work.
Highly recommend it if you're looking for a beautiful, calm, and welcoming place to live in Richmond! ???”

“Ive lived here for almost two years now, Matenance is great they are quick too...the elevator sometimes goes down but they will have someone controlling the service elevator to accomodate people.but thats expected of an old building. Karen is such an understanding and caring landlord...she knows and remembers whats going on in everyones lives and i really appreciate that...as someone with autism i really like that karen keeps us updated on the elevator schedule and whats going on in and around the building...i give this place a 5 cause the apartments are spacious and beautiful...i try to keep my space clean and ive not had any problems with mice or bugs......Thanks Chesterfield.”
“Best-kept secret in RVA. Newer building and very clean. Excellent communication between management and tenants. Maintenance, the few times I had to use it, was always very responsive and quick. It's $100 more for a parking garage space, but I highly suggest it, as parking in this part of Shockoe can be a nightmare, so keep that in mind.”

“I love living here so far. Whenever I have an issue Ravin is on top of it. The maintenance crew is simply amazing and very friendly. I'm in a building with great and friendly residents. My building is quiet and we get along well. The only downside if any would be the washers and dryers are expensive for the size and dryers don't really dry.”

“I love this place! It’s surrounded by beautiful mature tress and a lake so it’s private, safe and quiet. My apartment is beautifully renovated. There were a few minor issues that I reported when I moved in and the friendly maintenance (I think his name is Travis) came the same day to address it. I also very much like Sarah in the office because she’s attentive and kind. The complex has all the amenities I could ask for including a gym that over looks the pool, several picnic areas and a car care area. I’m so very grateful to live here and I thought it was comparably affordable for a 2 bed 2bath”
“I LOVE The Edge! But more importantly, the staff here is INCREDIBLE. In particular, Amber, Clay, and Sandy have made my stay here an absolute dream. Amber and Clay have both gone out of their way to help me day and night with multiple things and have always been supportive of me as a resident. Amber is not only an incredible person to have on the staff, but just an overall amazing individual that I'm always excited to interact with whenever I see her around the building. Clay is another incredible staff member who is down to earth, humble, and always down for a good dad joke or story. I have never stayed at an apartment complex that has felt like home, and goodness, this place finally makes me feel like I'm at home! And it certainly would not be the same without the staff. As for maintenance, they are on top of their game and get things done within 24 hours. I put in a few maintenance request when I first moved into my unit and was greeted by the maintenance crew who took care of everything quickly and happily. They too go above and beyond, being kind enough to even hang up my stringed porch lights. How cool?! I cannot recommend The Edge enough. From the community, amenities, AMAZING staff and maintenance team, you really get it all here. Don't let the older reviews scare you away. Things at The Edge have completely changed since the change of staff. I have been here through the staff rotation and I am so glad I have stayed because it is a dream living here!”

“I recently moved into the Lofty and my experience has been actually perfect. It is clean, peaceful, all appliances work, lots of storage, great sized bedrooms, and we even got July rent for free during their move-in special. This place was a steal!We also got lucky enough to have Estela Fuentes as our leasing agent. Not only is she outgoing, but she's very professional, on time and has SUPERB Communication! She's even checked in on us after moving in to make sure we love the place. Thank you!”

“I recently moved out and I wanted to share a proper review because I know it can be difficult to find an apartment to rent and not knowing if it’ll be the right fit, especially now that inflation is at an all time high. With this being said, my partner and I lived here for almost 5 years and we’ve seen a lot of management turnover but this did not happen until after 2020 when the pandemic happened. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of having Chassie and Beverly as the leasing managers when we first moved in and they were super kind and helpful. After they had left we went through probably 3-4 different leasing managers and just recently Ada has stepped in as the new leasing manager and I feel like things are finally back to normal. The apartment itself looks very nice and clean and I never had any issues with hearing my upstairs neighbors or anything like that. I feel like the walls were pretty thick but we could’ve just gotten lucky. The downside to living here is that there aren’t much amenities. There’s a gym with basic equipment and you do get a front desk/security but that’s pretty much it. There’s also events happening almost every weekend since it is a venue as well. Also, I’m pretty sure our water was turned off at least 20 times since we’ve lived there. There was always some type of water problem and it was very annoying. The only plus side is that they do pay for water utility so I guess you get what you pay for. The parking situation is also annoying because there’s no parking garage or discount you get living at the John Marshall. We paid for a parking spot in the building across the street and it was $145 on top of our rent. So unless you plan to be out of your place between 7am-6pm then you would have to consider paying for parking. Overall, staff is very nice and they’re always willing to work with you. I will miss my guy Al, who was there since day 1 of our move-in. Every apartment has its pros and cons so I just hope this helps with your apartment search. I would say overall I had a good experience, it could’ve been better but it wasn’t bad at all!”
