“went here for the first time today and found some awesome things! i love that they sell local art and support local artists. the person who rang me up was so welcoming and warm, will definitely be back!!”
“Great selection! Had some great items for the garden, reposed and vintage. Prices were phenomenal. Great for anyone with a new place or looking to add something special.”
“The cashiers are really sweet and they have a great selection of items from clothes to home goods. However, some of the home goods are a bit pricier than I would expect”
“This is my favorite thrift store in RVA! Great selection, fair prices, kind employees, and a wonderful mission. I stopped by the other day and the owner was incredibly friendly. All long-sleeve shirts were $2 which is a fantastic price and some items were even 50% off. This place is truly a gem and I hope it sticks around for many years. Wishing the owner and this store many years of good luck. Will be back soon!”
“This thrift store is super clean and organized. Great prices. Friendly staff. Always seems to have a sale on clothes and shoes. Despite what Google maps may say, open the first and third Saturday every month!”
“Great place to buy stuff and everyone working there has always been so nice but I’ve called or stopped there to donate things seven times as of today and even when I’ve called or gotten there before noon the sign that they are full for the day is always up. It’s a waste of time. Everyone is very nice about it, but I wouldn’t waste your time dropping by there. Easier to donate elsewhere unfortunately”
“This is my first ever google review and I'm happy to post this about this establishment. Staff was great, nice polite and very helpful. I was surprised about the prices and different sales they had .I will definitely return. Thanks to the staff that helped me.”

“While I really appreciate everything Goodwill does for the community, and I love how clean and organized this location is, I’ve noticed some concerns with the pricing and condition of certain items. At times, I’ve come across things that are visibly damaged (like broken frames or toys) and still priced in a way that doesn’t reflect their condition.
I completely understand that some pricing guidelines are set across the board, but I don’t feel this should apply to items that are clearly damaged. Broken items either need to be discounted accordingly or not put on the sales floor at all, especially when safety could be an issue for kids’ things.
On a positive note, I’ve never had anything less than a wonderful interaction with the staff here. Overall, I do enjoy shopping at this Goodwill and value the mission behind it. I hope this feedback can help keep the experience affordable and fair for everyone.”

“I'm a big fan of this store - I go here a few times a month. You can definitely find some gems. Prices are a little high, and sometimes I wonder if they are trying to match online prices. I would probably spend twice as much if they lowered them a bit! I'd recommend lowering prices on books, dvds and cds especially. But I am a loyal customer either way and can easily spend over an hour in here each visit.”
“I love shopping at ConsignRVA! There are always new items every time I go in, and the customer service is top notch. Sarah is always so friendly, and her prices are fair. Bob is really helpful and accommodating as well. Can’t wait to go back and find more treasures.”
“Great thrift shop with low prices! Had furniture, home items, and clothes.I was confused about the pictures posted under this location's reviews because they seemed like family pictures and not of the store. But I went anyways and glad I did! Will definitely be returning”

“I recently visited Goodwill, and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, which made shopping a breeze.
The overall vibe of the store was fantastic. It had just the right kind of energy you'd hope for in a Goodwill—positive, welcoming, and uplifting. Whether you're there to hunt for unique treasures or just browsing, the atmosphere adds to the enjoyment.
This location really embodies what I look for in a Goodwill. I'll definitely be back!”
“Very helpful staff!! Didn't really know what my shirt measurements were, they measured and got the shirts that I needed. In and out in a matter of minutes!! Thank you!!”
“I Absolutely love Southside Cares Thrift Center! Customer Service is Excellent! The moment you walk through the door, your greeted with a smile. While looking and shopping at items in the store, theres someone who will always ask if there's any help that you need. Ms. Angel at the front desk...Is Absolutely Phenomenal. Her drive to help you, and her Spirit within is Awesome! I drive several miles to come and shop at Southside Cares Thrift Center. Great Customer Service, Great Items, and most Importantly you feel Welcomed to shop there.”
“Furniture prices often start out high, but they get marked down regularly. Good pricing on other items, and they mark everything down regularly. The store always has a large inventory. Not the cleanest place. All items in the store are 25% off every Tuesday.”

“I always find treasures here. They have a good variety of everything. Some things are priced too high, so you have to dig. The staff has always been pleasant when I've shopped there.”
“Best thrift store in the Patterson / Tuckahoe area. Good selection of books and stationery, and both are cheap. It is my solemn conviction that decent-condition used paperbacks ought to go for fifty cents each, and Thrift For Life meets that benchmark. That alone puts this place above the other two thrift stores on Patterson Avenue. Furthermore, the sign out front notes that all proceeds go to the Massey Cancer Center, which is a worthwhile beneficiary. The other two thrift stores fund local church outreach organizations. Best of luck to them, but honestly? I'd rather my money fight cancer.Anyways, in those categories of things that I purchase from thrift stores, Thrift For Life has both a decent supply and reasonable prices. Besides all that, it's a nice and cozy place. Highly recommend.”
“Excellent patient caring efficient knowledgeable Customer Service rendered by Ms Sioban. Thank you & you saved me time by pointing out areas to find my items & helping me pick them out!
Great affordable prices for these lovely items.
I will recommend The Clothes Rack!
Gratitude to the presence of The Clothes Rack in lovely quaint Carytown, Richmond, VA”
“Like all Goodwills, you can really find some gems! ? It just takes some patience! This location is one that a lot of short pump would donate to, so there are some great finds here! Always a good customer service experience also. Thanks, Goodwill!”
“I went here for the first time yesterday to sell some shoes. Prior to this I’ve gone to Plato’s Closet multiple times. I must say, much MUCH better return on my items at Buffalo Exchange hands down. In addition, the service was absolutely amazing… everyone was so nice. Mind you, they were not able to accept all my items, but the reason I was given made complete sense and I was assured that they actually took the time to inspect my items before deciding not to accept them. This is now my “go to” place for selling all my clothes and shoes.”
“I told the cashiers this may be the best thrift store I’ve ever been to. Great prices, constantly rolling out good new stuff. Everything was organized wonderfully. I live in NC but would come back!”
“I support the Children's Hospital of the Kings' Daughters (CHKD) Thrift Store with my goods donations, because they provide not only quality care for children's, but also assist families with a low income with their Percent Reduction plan. They have a nice discount of 25% off on everything Tuesday.”
“I finally have some time to send a BIG thank you to Michael at the retore in Chesterfield.
I’ve been visiting the ReStore at Chesterfield Towne Center consistently for the past few weeks, and every single time, I’ve been warmly greeted by Michael. Whether it's a cheerful “Where have you been?” or “I haven’t seen you in a while,” his friendly and familiar energy makes walking through those doors such a joy. Even when I was just there the week before, he still made me feel like a valued guest.
Michael creates such a positive and inviting atmosphere—it truly transforms the shopping experience. As a realtor, I often look for creative giveaway items, and during one visit, I spotted some beautiful bottles that would be perfect. When I mentioned this to Michael, he didn’t hesitate. He said, “We’ve got a few more in the back,” and came out with not just a few, but eight boxes! When I asked if there were more, he smiled and said, “I got you,” and came back with the rest. Thanks to him, I was able to purchase them all—and left with a cart full of treasures and a heart full of gratitude.
Michael also remembered that I love gardening (how sweet) and kindly reminded me that the potato slips had arrived. I was so excited I practically ran to get them! His thoughtfulness and attentiveness go above and beyond.
I honestly don’t know what I’d do if Michael wasn’t at the ReStore. He is the heart of that location—kind, gracious, and always ready to help. He makes every visit worthwhile, and his presence is a true gift to the community. Thank you, Michael, for always going the extra mile (just for me :) I know for everyone who enters the store!”

“I just left with 2 designer men's blazers for $12.00. The sweet lady behind the counter helped me to choose the correct size and was so cheerful and pleasant. Thank you, Miss Carolyn. You're awesome.”
“I enjoy walking around and checking out what they have to offer. Furniture, lights, rugs, all kinds of stuff for the houseCleaning supplies, appliances, cabinets, doors, and windows. This is a great place to find a treasure. Even if you don't buy, it's always fun to look at what's new.”
“You can find some great stuff here but they are way overpriced for many items. The prices of shoes are wild! $15-$25 per pair. Goodwill has them for $8. Clothes are priced high too. I'd recommend reevaluating these to move it out quicker. I would probably spend a lot more here if the prices came down a bit.”
“Just like the old school thrift stores, not over priced, and a little bit of everything. Go here instead of goodwill
Edited to add: a lot of reviewers are saying it’s over priced compared to before, but I think it’s reasonably priced compared to thrift stores in the present moment. I got a $4.95 tee shirt that would have been $10+ elsewhere or more for “brand name”. I suppose YMMV”
“I cannot say enough about how great this business is. I needed to get rid of a part of a sectional couch so I could fit my new one sofa in. Called all thrift stores in town and all of them refused to pick it up despite me paying them over $50 to do the job. They also discriminated based on my couch being a part of a sectional, not being from a pet free home etc. I called New Line and they picked it up on the exact date and time I needed the couch gone. They charged me $60 but saved me from a great ordeal. God bless them!”
