No one on site the day we went to clear out storage and settle account. Had to leave keys and lock at another location and start the process there. I had called a couple days prior and was told there would be someone on site. This endeavor required a six hour round trip and an overnight stay for me and my son and we were put off by the lack of customer support.

If I could, I would give this a 0 star rating...horrible customer service, and the system is never updated with accurate information. Very "combative" and defensive customer service as their voice was louder than mine. Someone needs to be at this location, not have another Uhaul as a proxy! Do NOT rent here! Horrible experience! Unclean storage units because it's not kept up with nobody being there every day!

The storages are a little small and there is never anyone in the office for service you have to go to a different location for service and to get your unit

This is a nice temperature-controlled storage place. You get a remote to the gate so no trying to remember your code..

Con artist and scammers. They charged my card an additional 92.00 for a “clean up fee” extra mileage that i DIDNT travel and gas. I’ve reached out to them numerous times via email and I’ve also called and no one answers. Be very wary of this place especially being that they have access to your credit card info!

Storage unit I rented was a great price, was easily accessible, seemed fairly secured and the process to rent was super easy and professionally done. After that, if you’re a woman renting here, come with a man or be prepared to be told how to do something correctly, while you’re actively doing that correctly. Namely for me, opening and closing the gate to the climate controlled units. This happened to me multiple times, where the random men mansplaining to me stopped immediately and left when they saw my boyfriend approach and said “have a good one”. Closing out my unit was also incredibly uncomfortable as I had to call to be assisted and the person who I called to cancel my unit made repeated creepy remarks about my appearance, asked very personal questions, and followed me out to my car (in the rain, even) to continue asking me what I do for a living. You really don’t expect to have to tell an employee at a uhaul about your boyfriend to be left alone but I guess here it matters. Overall price is great, but employees made the experience weird and uncomfortable.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!There are homeless that use the storage as their home! They have tried to lean up but are still very trashy and feels unsafe!!!My mother-in-law passed away and we stored her belongings. We have had this unit for 4 years because NO ONE IS EVER THERE to let you in and out...we live 80 miles away and have even called and set up a time to meet someone but they never showed up. Drove up last night to empty the unit, no one in the office, stayed nearby, and went again this morning, again no one!!! Now have been on the phone for over an hour with customer service trying to close the account. Evidently, they had a leak somewhere and I was never notified and now there is water damage and mold on my belongings but no one on-site to speak to!!! DO NOT USE!!!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!! I would give it a 0 star rating if I could. Terrible experience. The U-haul on Arthur Ashe Boulevard has been one of the worst storage unit experiences I have ever had, and I have had plenty of storage units. I have had my unit here for the past year and within the past 6 months things have turned bad. The gate is constantly broke. The building is locked when it’s supposed to be open. I work construction and my tools are in my unit. So they have cost me lost time with my business. There are never employees at this location. You have to call another location to get someone to let you in the building. As I’m typing this I’ve been waiting for over an hour for them to unlock it. They had roofers put a new roof on the facility. They never covered my stuff and water, dust and debris covered my contents. I’ve had multiple employees look over my contents and they have done nothing about it. They always say “someone will get back with you.” I’m in the process of moving out and I told them that I will not clean up the dust and debris from the roofers. They got an attitude with me. They told me that i will get charged a cleaning fee. Please stay away from this company. The U-haul Self-storage on Arthur Ashe Boulevard is bad news.

Manager called to let me know my payment was due. The way she spoke, I have never felt so disrespected. Like many effected by the pandemic, I have been out of work, currently just days past due. She rudely boasted that she only had the 1 active number and that If I didn't give her another more she would would cancel my contract, "3 active phone number requirement!, I asked if it was a new rule/procedure she said "No, people just not doing their jobs!", followed by "Its a new Sheriff in town". There are better ways to talk to a customer! Rude! Sunday 7/11/2021 3pm. Just because its a storage facility doesn't mean they should lack in the customer service department. I will avoid 100% remember to skip this Storage Facility If I find myself needing one in the future!

Placed a lein on my account after several days late. Called to make arrangements and had to speak to a manager. Advised me to come in and wasn't available. Was told he'd give me a call when in and never called me. I moved out paid ALL bogus leins and late fees. Now I'm being charged again including late fees for a whole nother month AFTER MOVING OUT. The floor was also wet and rotted the bottom of several boxes I had in the unit? Worst storage unit experience I've ever had.

We received a confirmation email and phone call (and talked to a live person) on Monday (less than 48 hours ago) stating that our reservation was confirmed for 7am today. We showed up at 7am today and there is a sign taped to the door saying that the new store hours are 9am-5pm, but the office hours are still listed as 7am-7pm and the phone system still has them listed as 7am-7pm. But there is no one here. If there was, literally, anyone other than Uhaul to rent through, we would have done that instead. Thanks for changing your hours, but not providing any notification, so we showed up at 7am expecting a Uhaul, and have movers coming to the house at 8am.

Was sent here by another U-haul after I was misquoted both availability and pricing info. Tamia - greeted me warmly even though she was hard at work. She immediately took ownership of my problem and working with not much availability was able to help me find a solution. I was super impressed and VERY grateful. 5-star customer service. Hope she is recognized by leadership as the asset she is as demonstrated to this grateful customer.

When I returned my rented van to this location, the only employee at the desk asked me to stand aside while he served two customers who came in behind me. When he finally got to me, his truck inspection only took 2 minutes, whereas serving the two customers who came after me was a 15 minute ordeal. The VCU U-Haul rental and storage facility on Broad Street is a much better location, if you have the option of choosing where to pick up your rental.

Woman working during the day was incredibly rude to another customer who was trying to checkout. So much so that it made me very uncomfortable. The gentleman who was there when I returned my materials was very friendly.
