The cleaning crew works diligently to maintain the facility, though the building itself is in need of some major renovations, with a leaky roof and dated equipment. While the gym may not be the newest or shiniest, it offers a solid workout experience for "real gym rats" who prioritize functionality over aesthetics. The hours of operation, however, have been criticized as lacking, with some members wishing the gym was open 24 hours and had better weekend hours. The gym's two pools and hot tub are underutilized, and the on-site childcare, while staffed by friendly personnel, has been described as dirty and not suitable for very young children. Additionally, some members have expressed concerns about the lack of enforcement of certain rules, such as shirtless posing and inappropriate attire. Despite these drawbacks, Gold's Global Gym is considered the best gym option in the Roanoke city area, offering a wide range of classes and hosting various events and vendor collaborations. The trainers are also praised for their friendliness and reasonable rates for personal training.
