“Been driving past for years taking the kids to baseball, finally stopped in for coffee. Turns out they do breakfast sandwiches, something northern and western Loudoun are in short supply. (I’m from NJ ?) looks like high end ingredients, can’t wait to come back and try.
Reading thru the reviews, its a common theme nowadays, great food, bad service. My experience here reveals bad training, not bad employees. We walked in, young guy behind the counter is working diligently on something with his back to us, there’s a bell on the door, we shuffled our feet, and nothing. He doesn’t look up, doesn’t say hi. Once engaged with him though, he opens right up and starts telling me all about the products and how awesome this place is.
Idk, I could be wrong, but did anybody explain to him what world class service looks like? Do the owners really understand the importance, and is there ANY training programs in place? (I know, small mom and pop…yeah yeah, it’s post Covid, there are countless choices, get with it mom and pop, or I’m going to Denny’s!)
I’m sick and tired of owners and managers (not specifically this place now) complaining about kids nowadays and can’t find good help. Do you even have an employee handbook for your business? Do you have ANY systems, processes or procedures in place that said employee can be trained to a standard?
Wake up mom and pop, you can’t just hand a kid a notepad and tell them to go take my order.
But I digress, will be back for the breakfast, maybe some local maple syrup too. Very excited about a new to me spot!”
“For a smalltown store, the quality, variety and prices are not terrible. There are good selections of healthy(ier) food options....almost like a mini-Whole Foods but not as expensive.”
“I've lived in Loudoun for some.time now and I've never been in the mercantile in Hamilton. I'd heard that the folks from King Street coffee are there now so I stopped in and was not disappointed. Coffee was excellent, service was super friendly and they were serving cow bell scones that were perfect. Will be my regular stop.”
“This store has just about anything a country store would need. The only thing they don't do is cook food which the employee said they were getting their permits to do. They sell everything from bait, knives to propane and milk. They even sell flowers and wine for Valentine's day. The prices aren't crazy either. This is that great place when it's late, you don't want to drive into town but need those few items.”
“Been riding W&OD trail and did not know this little gem exist! found myself and my riding buddies here and got some good drinks, ice cream and snacks to refuel! will definitely stop by again.”
“Heather Heider is an absolute professional. Her knowledge of Fox hunting, hunter jumper, and horsemanship are unparalleled. We lease hirelings from her for our annual girl’s trip to go hunt in Virginia and she has become like family to us. I can’t recommend her and Van Vixen Farm enough!”
“This little mom and pop country store is awesome! My wife and I were passing through the area and my wife needed a coffee. I walked in and Paige instantly offered to make a fresh hot coffee and brewed it up within minutes. I browsed around the store and purchased a few things and spoke to the other lady working who was super friendly. The service is top notch with a big stock of different artisan goods.”
“This is a small country store with different types of items. Small deli inside, freshly made as you order. I make it a point to stop in for inexpensive items and items I can't get in Leesburg.”
“I know the employees here don't get the recognition they should. But as often as my family and I visit this location there are a few employees tend to always be there working hard with a smile and a pleasant attitude. I would suggest management to truly recognize their efforts and award them so. Sammy and Shawn , thank you. We appreciate your efforts and hard work. Best Dollar General in the area. And there is like 8.”
“Been going here 25 years and the Giant staff and departments are friendly and helpful. Love the points I get for shopping there that can be used for gas discounts at Shell.”
“A great location of this store very well stocked very clean staff is very helpful and friendly they have a great selection in their fresh meats and seafood if that's your thing their Bakery is very nice the staff are very helpful when you asked and you're looking for certain things you're able to find them and if you're not able to find them there but hope you locate them they have a very friendly attitude the staff do they do all that they can to help you find what you're looking for they have great Crips and pick up they have a good Pharmacy this is a good store overall at this location if I could give more than five stars I would Harris Teeter was just recently ranked as the best supermarket chain in the United States which I think is very good you will be very pleased with your time at the store and the way the staff treats you and the way to get you in and out they have the cashiers always ready and they do have self checkouts as well or you can do online purchase and arrange to have things picked up ahead of time and brought to your car when you come in and let them know you're there”
“Giant grocery stores can be found in some of the southeastern states. Here in the East, we have Stop & Shop. The stores are totally identical with the same layout. I stopped by the Giant store, for some quick necessities. It looks like your average grocery store that has everything one may find in a grocery store. This Giant grocery store, however has a giant selection of wine. It's as big as the selection of olive oil, times three, in other stores. It does make a lot of sense, since this is Loudoun county, and wine and vineyards are the big attraction.”
“A great local store. Stocked with the randomThings you need rather than run to a chain. Always friendly. Just grabbed some dish soap/mozz cheese/and local craft beer.”
