“Back in 2024 I picked up a Santa Cruz Blur CC from Bicycle Pro Shop. The experience was great and the bike is nothing short of amazing. I’m a fairly experienced person with working on my bikes, but was running short on time this year for some maintenance. I brought the Blur in for routine fork and shock maintenance. Turn-around time was great and the bike is running tip-top again. While I was there I ordered an endurance road bike - Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 SmartSense. I just took delivery of that bike this week. The purchase experience was awesome. Did some in-store discussions and finished up over the phone. Bike was built quick (same day!) and the team assisted me with the initial fit and instructions on how to use all the gadgets this bike has. Kudos to Andre and the team there for the excellent service and responsiveness!”

“Rat's Cycle's customer service is great! I brought an e-bike in with what I thought was a stripped pedal arm and they quickly determined that only the pedal, itself, was stripped. I was in and out in 10 minutes with a new set of pedals, and I was only charged for the pedals since the labor was so minor. That's the kind of customer service that will make me a repeat customer!”

“While packing my triathlon carbon bike for a race overseas I noticed a crack on the fork. This was 48 hrs before getting on a plane for a race in Europe. I was frantically calling around to get the fork replaced. Nobody wanted to touch it but Alex genuinely wanted to help. He worked me in, did a great job with the bike and he charged me a nominal fee. He is a true bike mechanic but also a small business owner with high integrity & professionalism. Any other shop would have tried to take advantage of the situation and charged me an absurd fee. If you ever need a work done on your bike or want to buy a new bike Alex is the right guy.”

“I have always loved cycling, but have never truly loved a particular bike before. I thought the best way to resolve this would be to get a new bike and bought myself a 4130 all road from state bike co. Even though conceptually everything about this bike fit my requirements (relaxed geometry, wide supple tires, compliant steel frame), I could not find myself a comfortable position during my rides. After wrestling with stem length, saddle positioning, and almost giving up on drop bars altogether, I decided to give the bike one last chance by booking a fitting with Robert. After consulting with me on my riding style and bike usage - I told Robert I want to use my bike for bikepacking and commuting - he immediately understood that I valued comfort and endurance over speed. It took him just 15mins to adjust my bars, saddle height, and fore/aft. When I got back on my bike, the entire ride experience had been transformed. Today I took my bike on a 30mile ride wearing normal clothes (no padded shorts) and found myself with no sore spots or unusual aches anywhere. I went from almost giving up on drop bars to not being able to conceive a long distance ride without them. For the first time in my life I am in love with a bike and it is all thanks to Robert. Do yourself a favor by booking a fitting with the legend Robert instead of wrestling with your saddle and bars by yourself. You will thank yourself when you’re riding the next day with a big goofy smile on your face.”

“I’m not a cyclist. Just a guy who’s now a dad, and as long as I live in Woodbridge, I’ll never go anywhere else. Steve (who I assume is the owner) has been so helpful and accommodating every time I’ve been in here, which has been over the course of almost a decade, every year or so. I’ve had a couple of bicycles tuned up, bought a few tires, and last summer, I bought our son his first bicycle. Stellar every time. Today, we went in to purchase a kick stand (I’d rather support Steve than Amazon or any big box store.). First of all, he was so friendly to my little guy; he even let him come in the back to watch him use a hacksaw and grinder to trim and grind his new kickstand. It took him several tries to get it just right on such a small bike, but Steve persisted and got it perfect. As I was checking out, I asked if he had a rubber tip for the stand, as we’d be storing it in the house on hardwood floor. He said, “Oh man, I’m so sorry; we don’t.” No worries. “Waitasec,” he said. Then he rummaged around and found a bigger kick stand that had a rubber stopper, but it was high end and in a package. I started, “You don’t have to d…” “No problem at all, man! I get it!” he said, as he ripped open the package, took out the rubber stopper, and put it on our little kid bike. I’ve got more stories like that, but I’ll leave it at the one that’s most fresh on my brain. A-1 is the bike shop in the Woodbridge area! Side note: if you purchase a bike from here, they have a trade-in program for kids. Buy a bike from them, they give you a better trade in credit if you upgrade through them when the kid outgrows the old bike. Done. Never going anywhere else as long as we’re in the area.”

Adam seemed particularly knowledgeable and helped my very senior dad get a new bike when the one he'd been riding was about ready to collapse. He ran through the cost of fixing things, and then reviewed options for a new replacement bike. Definitely recommend whether it's for derailer, pedal, break, or other issues, or for purchasing a new bike.”
