Agape Vet Clinic
6323 Hopewell Rd, The PlainsWe recently visited this vet when our farm veterinarian was undergoing surgery. Whilst we love our veterinarian team; this practice is an 'admirable-second'. Knowledgeable, aware of natural behavior in extra-large working-dog breeds, competent, not afraid to examine and engage with large dogs, replete with compassion, kindness and particular respect and flexibility for dogs that do not enjoy going indoors, particularly not inside veterinary offices! NAMASTE! GRATITUDE!

Bistro @ The Porch
6483 Main St, The PlainsMy wife, daughter, and I celebrated our youngest’s pre-k graduation at Bistro. My wife and daughter have enjoyed this spot before, but it was my first time. The atmosphere was welcoming. I loved the classic rock playing from The Animals House of the Rising Sun to Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust. We were greeted by a friendly gal, and received outstanding service. The server was also working a party upstairs in the bar area, but found time to pitch the prime rib sandwich special. My daughter and I momentarily checked out the bar area upstairs and agreed the speak easy vibes was cool with blue toned lighting. I can definitely see my wife and I bringing a couple friends here to catch up one evening. We arrived for lunch at noon opening on a Thursday and there was plenty of space available. By 1 pm the restaurant area started to gradually fill. My wife and I were both torn between their special and the reuben sandwich. I’m a reuben fan and my wife is a steak sandwich fan. The server offered to cut them in half for us. We both enjoy the dishes, and my daughter liked her homemade Mac and Cheese side. There was no kids menu, but the Mac n Cheese was a side option for $7. Both the special prime rib sandwich and reuben were $20 per dish. They came with some salty chips and homemade coleslaw. The coleslaw was tangy and good. We highly recommend both the Reuben and Prime Rib sandwiches. Also, definitely try the fresh rolls. They came with two different spreads - honey butter and dill. The two faced margaritas were unique with a hot jalapeño and sweet hibiscus flavor.
