Pet Care

Dominion Valley Animal Hospital
5371 Merchants View Sq, HaymarketDr. Moss and staff were wonderful! This was the first visit with our two dogs after switching from Stonewall Veterinary (where I was so unhappy with their staff, doctors and overall attention to detail) and I’m so glad I made the move. What a difference in care! I would highly recommend.

VCA Healthy PAWS Medical Center
14840 Washington St, HaymarketI am not sure how many years ago we started bringing our cats, and now new kittens, to VCA in Haymarket but it was the best decision we could have made.
We started with three (3) cats, two of which were older and had developed some health issues in their late years. There was never a question as to whether they were receiving the proper care or not with the wonderful staff that works at VCA. They worked tirelessly with us to help our two older cats live out their best lives possible. When our sweet boy got sick, they helped transition us to an internal medicine doctor to help him, which ultimately helped him to live several more months with us before we had to say goodbye
Now in addition to the one loving cat we had left we have over the past 3 years added four more, including two kittens recently. There has never been a question of where they would receive their health care when we adopted them. You could not ask for better doctors in Dr Lucy or Dr Q. They are attentive and so very genuinely caring. Thank you to all the staff at VCA Haymarket for all you have done for us so far ~ looking forward to many more years of working together for our pets' health.

A Pup's Valley
6680 Fayette St, HaymarketWe have gone to Pup Valley Twice now. The first thing that got me was the Cleanliness of the facility. And what really, really got me was the fact that they had a person there to watch over the dogs over nite. I was sold. That lifted a worry off of my heart. And the staff was very nice and they work with us when we were returning from our trip. We were cutting it very close to closing time and they stayed there until got there to get our Girl.

The Winery at La Grange
4970 Antioch Rd, HaymarketA time was had during my first but definitely not last visit to the Winery at La Grange! Thanks to Guide to Imbibe, I stumbled across this gem a little less than an hour from DC. The parts of the winery I did see were beautiful. The house served as a Civil War hospital, then a home and now winery since 2006. I didn't get a chance to view upstairs or out back because I spent my entire time there in the tasting room. I was told upstairs has some parlours with seating for a more private experience. The outside view is beautiful with multiple tables to sit and enjoy wine and live music on the weekends. Mary, a fellow educator, took excellent care of me when I arrived! She was so warm and friendly and did a great job of explaining all the wines and helping me find wines that fit my preference. I ended up joining their wine club and left with 8 bottles. I also got to meet Flurry one of the staff member's dog. Everyone was so friendly and I'm excited to return with some friends!

1971 Coffee Shop
15125 Washington St Suite #112, HaymarketThis place is great and very busy! The cheese pan de Bono is phenomenal and I will be back for more. The salted caramel crunch cake was delicious as well.
It was fairly busy when I was there with most tables occupied. I hope they're successful and stick around for a long time!

Cookies & Cream
14650 Washington St, HaymarketOh my god! This ice cream is so good. I got a waffle sundae. That's right, a sundae on top of a belgian waffle. Not a waffle cone, nay, an actual waffle. My favorite sundae of them all. A rarity in this area. Usually a Jersey boardwalk treat but a rarity in Virginia. I had the banana ice cream two scoops with all the fixins and toppins and it was just the right amount of sundae. Perfect.
And all the staff were so friendly and awesome. Nice little building with nifty seating inside and out. Really love it. Best ice cream woot woot in Haymarket!

Zandra's Taqueria, Haymarket
14600 Washington St #146, Haymarket$50ish for 4 tacos and one margarita is so expensive for what it is. But it was still decent and the staff was great. If you go here for drinks, I definitely recommend.

Giuseppe's
15120 Washington St, HaymarketGreat Italian food, fresh pasta, and in a nice atmosphere. The pizza bianca was really good. Getting the food on the table may take time, but that's usually because something like the fettuccine needs to be made. The reward is that it is really fresh. There's good parking behind the restaurant and outdoor seating is available.
