Pet Grooming

The Polished Pooch Grooming Salon
6601 Jefferson St, HaymarketSuch a nice atmosphere with genuinely kind and welcoming people! I took my one-year-old Himalayan cat, who is extremely fluffy, and she was pretty scared on the drive there. As soon as I picked her up, she was completely back to herself. She looked so fresh and clean, and you could tell she felt much better. They did an amazing job, and the pricing was very fair. My only issue was finding the place at first, haha, but that was just me. Other than that, it was a 10/10 experience. I would definitely recommend them!

Pet Care

Dominion Valley Animal Hospital
5371 Merchants View Sq, HaymarketDr. Moss and staff were wonderful! This was the first visit with our two dogs after switching from Stonewall Veterinary (where I was so unhappy with their staff, doctors and overall attention to detail) and I’m so glad I made the move. What a difference in care! I would highly recommend.

VCA Healthy PAWS Medical Center
14840 Washington St, HaymarketVCA Healthy Paws is an exceptional vet clinic. The doctors take the time to listen and are very thorough in their examination. The clinic is also an extremely well-run operation. The staff is unusually attentive, responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful. Our pets are our family, and Healthy Paws treats them that way, too. Specially shout outs to Dr Lucy, Yvonne, and Mitchell! Highly recommended!

The Winery at La Grange
4970 Antioch Rd, HaymarketA time was had during my first but definitely not last visit to the Winery at La Grange! Thanks to Guide to Imbibe, I stumbled across this gem a little less than an hour from DC. The parts of the winery I did see were beautiful. The house served as a Civil War hospital, then a home and now winery since 2006. I didn't get a chance to view upstairs or out back because I spent my entire time there in the tasting room. I was told upstairs has some parlours with seating for a more private experience. The outside view is beautiful with multiple tables to sit and enjoy wine and live music on the weekends. Mary, a fellow educator, took excellent care of me when I arrived! She was so warm and friendly and did a great job of explaining all the wines and helping me find wines that fit my preference. I ended up joining their wine club and left with 8 bottles. I also got to meet Flurry one of the staff member's dog. Everyone was so friendly and I'm excited to return with some friends!

Cookies & Cream
14650 Washington St, HaymarketOh my god! This ice cream is so good. I got a waffle sundae. That's right, a sundae on top of a belgian waffle. Not a waffle cone, nay, an actual waffle. My favorite sundae of them all. A rarity in this area. Usually a Jersey boardwalk treat but a rarity in Virginia. I had the banana ice cream two scoops with all the fixins and toppins and it was just the right amount of sundae. Perfect.
And all the staff were so friendly and awesome. Nice little building with nifty seating inside and out. Really love it. Best ice cream woot woot in Haymarket!

El Vaquero West
14910 Washington St, HaymarketFood was delicious, plentiful and priced right. We had the Mixed Grill and fajita quesadillas. The mixed grill came with chicken breast, steak and shrimp plus rice, beans and fresh pico. The meat was cooked perfect and there were 8 large shrimp. All grilled! The quesadilla was full of steak, onions, peppers and cheese. It came with guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and a side plate of rice. The restaurant was an excellent value with fresh tasty food. Service was great!

Hidden Julles
14950 Washington St, HaymarketI love this place! The cinnamon rolls and monkey bread along with suffins. Yum the avocado toasts with different breads and toppings. The salads…EVERYTHING they prepare is fresh and delicious. Though it is often busy and you might need to wait 10 or 15 minutes…it is well worth it. One reason for the wait may be the preparation of specialty drinks including fabulous coffees and teas. A small number of indoor tables fill up quickly and outside seating is comfortable. The staff try very hard to assist every patron.. I LOVE HIDDEN JULES 💕

Swirlies Treats Haymarket - Soft Serve, Shave Ice & Desserts
15401 Kapp Valley Way, HaymarketSwirlies Ice Cream in Haymarket has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a summer treat. It’s really affordable, especially for how much variety they offer, so it’s easy to bring the whole family without feeling like you’re overspending. They’ve got classic ice cream options plus desserts you just don’t see anywhere else, including fun, trendy seasonal items like their dot cake that my family is already obsessed with.
What I really like is that Swirlies has been around for a long time, so it has that established “local favorite” feel. It’s the kind of place parents can remember going to when they were younger and now bring their kids to, which makes it a really nice family spot to hang out together.
The staff here are genuinely kind and welcoming. They’re patient with kids, happy to walk you through the different flavors and specials, and you can tell they enjoy making people’s day with good ice cream. Another huge plus is the location, Swirlies is super convenient, right off Route 66, which makes it an easy stop on the way home or a detour when you’re driving through Haymarket. If you’re looking for an affordable ice cream spot with unique desserts, friendly staff, and a long‑standing family‑friendly vibe, Swirlies Ice Cream is definitely worth checking out.

Giuseppe's
15120 Washington St, HaymarketGreat Italian food, fresh pasta, and in a nice atmosphere. The pizza bianca was really good. Getting the food on the table may take time, but that's usually because something like the fettuccine needs to be made. The reward is that it is really fresh. There's good parking behind the restaurant and outdoor seating is available.
