“Located right next to Walmart, Burlington, and Dave’s Hot Chicken, this gym honestly sits in one of the best spots in Tysons. I’ve been an active member here for a while, and I genuinely enjoy working out at this place. The gym is huge, the lighting (especially the blue aesthetic) sets the vibe, and they’ve got tons of classes. Plus, the membership deals are budget-friendly and the biggest perk—it’s open 24/7. In Tysons Corner, that’s a luxury.

There are plenty of cardio machines (treadmills, cycling, stair steppers), a massive free-weights area, and enough equipment to keep both beginners and hardcore gym lovers happy. For me, it’s easily one of the best gyms in the area.

That said, I do hope management pays attention to a few quality-of-life improvements. These will genuinely take the place from great to perfect:

Areas of Improvement:
- Please fix the abs-crunch machine.
Right now, it gives zero resistance and instead gives cramps. There needs to be proper leg pressure for a good crunch workout.

- Add more mirrors in the strength training area.
Mirrors are only in one small section. Gyms like Crunch Fitness have mirrors all over—and trust me, it makes a huge difference for form and confidence. Please don’t cut corners here.

- Install large digital clocks at both ends of the gym.
The tiny analog clock doesn’t help when you’re timing sets, sprints, or resting. Large digital timers would be a big help.

- Improve the Your Fitness US app.
The new update is honestly disappointing. We can’t see membership numbers, can’t upgrade to Plus, can’t purchase special water, and the guest pass flow is still broken. The app experience is currently pretty bad and needs a serious fix.

Overall, I still love this gym and recommend it to anyone in Tysons. But if these issues get resolved, this place would easily become the undisputed best 24/7 gym in the area.

When I joined CrossFit Route 7 I was immediately impressed with how friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive the coaches are. The CrossFitters there are passionate and kind, and they always make you feel welcome. Unfortunately I had to leave the gym do to life circumstances, but the owners were extremely generous and gracious about my situation. We need more CrossFit gyms like this one.”

“I recently went for a free trial class and had a fantastic experience! My neighbor and friend recommended SPENGA and I am so glad I went, I signed up for a membership after class. My instructor Jenna helped me to feel super comfortable and explained the format and everything so well for a newcomer. During class, it was small enough that instructors can give you individual corrections and attention and Jenna’s cueing was clear and very descriptive along with being super positive including immediately demonstrating both the standard movement and multiple modification options. I really appreciated that this studio vocally encourages everyone to listen to their body and adjust as needed judgment-free and makes all walks of life feel welcome. I am so excited to go back, especially knowing I already already have friends there!”

“I had a great experience at F45 Training Landmark. The workout was excellent and truly scalable for any ability level—from beginners just getting started to advanced athletes looking to push themselves.

The facility itself is well-designed with a very efficient layout, which makes the sessions flow smoothly and keeps the energy high. The trainers were knowledgeable, attentive, and always focused on proper form and safety, which I really appreciated.

“I started at Healthy Baller three years ago for physical therapy after a knee replacement. I progressed and continued my strength & conditioning training with John Healy. John motivates me and plans workouts for me that keep me excited and continues to improve my strength and overall wellbeing. John asks me what my goals are and is helping me to reach them! Being in my 60’s i want to stay strong and want to continue with my activities without injury, like playing pickle ball and keeping up with grandkids! John is knowledgeable in the right exercises for me that continue to make me stronger without injury! John is excellent and intuitive with picking up when i am not at my best due to various reasons (tired, not feeling my best, distracted, over worked or trained, mental exhaustion etc) and will switch up my training/workout to meet my immediate needs for that day with continuing to challenge me just enough to get my very best out of me for that off day.I’ve never felt better and feel as if i can keep up with folks decades younger than me. “I’ve been an Orangetheory member since 2018 and have tried several home studios over the years—but Dunn Loring is hands-down my favorite! The coaches are all incredible in their own unique way: some check in with you after class even if you're not new, others sprint up and down the gym to cheer you on during your treadmill block, some could easily be motivational speakers, and a few will have you laughing your way through the workout. No matter who’s coaching, you always feel encouraged and challenged.

The front desk staff is just as amazing—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need. The whole team creates a great community. I highly recommend giving OTF Dunn Loring a try!”

“There are lots of CrossFit Gyms in the Northern Virginia area. What makes Sand and Steel stand out above others is the coaching and care they provide to the members. They just don't throw you in to workouts and expect you to figure things out.Instead, Paul, Dawn, and the rest of the coaching staff take their time to make sure you scale appropriately. The coaches make sure you work on mobility and nutrition, along with your workout. In my case, I have had a series of prior injuries, and moreover, I had consistent cramping and dehydration problems during workouts. No matter what supplements I took or how much water I drank, I would get light-headed, and my muscles would cramp. In short, my body simply refused to hold water. For years, I thought there was something medically wrong with me.Paul recommended a great supplement as a pre-workout, and then the cramping was gone. Like Magic. Now, my conditioning, strength, and overall performance greatly improved.So, like I said before... coaching makes a huge difference. This gym comes highly recommended.”
