“We couldn't ask for a better place on the beach! City view was beautiful! Room was beautiful! Could've stayed 6 days easily here it was sooo comfortable. Modern. Great staff! Valet was A1 attentive. Good breakfast and beach access was perfect! Clean place!”

“Fantastic stay. In no particular order - Beautiful views from the balcony with convenient beach access, and a foot wash station. The room was cozy and clean. With so many guests, I truly was surprised at how quiet my experience was. I got a good nights rest each night and woke up refreshed to a complimentary hot breakfast. The staff was so very accommodating and kind to us. I can’t stress this enough. Just outside the front of the hotel are eateries, frozen custard and ice cream, and all the things you would need to purchase for a fun beach day. If you want to take a dolphin tour, you can do that with just a 4 minute drive down the road. There were street performers and families hanging out along the main streets…I genuinely enjoyed my short stay here and plan to visit again soon. Sorry guys, I do not plan to share this secret with my friends.**Final note - it’s not the Ritz Carlton. It’s an old beachy hotel, right. So, come with good vibes, a relaxed attitude, and embrace the experience. Or, pay a couple more hundred a night for a more luxury experience.”

“This is my favorite place to stay in Virginia Beach. Affordable, clean, awesome view of the ocean and a really nice indoor pool. I like how they've updated the rooms with new floors and bedding. The showers have good water pressure and there's plenty of towels. Front desk is always courteous and professional. Housekeeping is on point!

“This was our first visit to Virginia Beach and Springhill Suites did not disappoint. Our room was clean and as described, the hotel staff were friendly and we enjoyed talking with Chris each morning at breakfast. She was friendly and a delight to talk with. The front desk people were courteous as well and helped answer any questions we had. We will definitely return here in future trips. The location was perfect and we loved the choices of both indoor and outdoor pool.”

“11/7- UPDATE! I will never stay here again!! I got back tonight and the parking spot they saved for me was taken! (Even the illegal one i stayed in last night!!) Then they told me i had to park 2 blocks away and pay for it. Im not carrying all my stuff 2 blocks. Finally they told me that "Moxy" next door would honor parking and i could park right across the street. I walked to moxy only to find out that is not the case and they charge $11 and its valet only so they areetting me park in front of their building until i pack up and then they will valet until tomorrow morning. If i wasnt so tired i would leave today and demand my money back. #compactcarsonly!!

11/6- I travel for work and I have stayed here before during off season and it is georgous. The balcony views in every room are perfect. The beds are clean and comfortable (which staying in many hotels frequently... matters!) I drive a service van and since it cannot fit in a parking deck there is limited parking here for taller vehicles. STILL... everytime they find me a place out front to park. Tonight it was Angela at the fro t desk and she really took care of me. She also made sure someone came and fixed my tv (since i will be here a couple days (and I NEED NETFLIX!! ) and even personally brought me the foam pillows i asked for after hours. I always feel comfortable and safe when I stay here. Angela really saved my night!!”

“Place in a very nice spot away from the busier spots on base and very close beach access! The room is Cosy with a nice kitchenette and some small appliances like a poster and coffee maker. Staff there were friendly and super helpful! Ms. Elle specifically was an amazing receptionist and just all and all wonderful person to be around! By the time we left she and my dog were best buds!”

“We've stayed in a few hotels in Virginia Beach over the last 2 months visiting sick family member. This is the nicest, friendliest one we have stayed, that didn't make our trip more stressful. The views are great obviously. But the staff were so nice and the rooms where clean and comfortable. The reason for a 4 was that the shower leaked pretty bad, and some parts of the room were poorly rehabbed. But this will be our choice hotel from here on out.”

This resort is one of the best in this area. I have been staying here for years. If you choose this place you for sure won't be let down.Great hotel. Newly renovated. Beautiful, light, open, airy, just like the beach that it's next to. At one time, it was thought that the nicer fancy hotels were at one end and the overused less maintained were at the other end, no longer all of them facing the beach are pristine and luxurious. A great clean family friendly alternative to beaches up north. Boardwalk is concrete.”

“I can’t say enough good things about the staff here! I was there for a week, and I didn’t come across a single employee who wasn’t kind and friendly, and they were fantastic all-around! They set the bar high. We were traveling with pets, so the pet accommodation was a big deal for us. I’m assuming we got a pet-friendly room, but I could tell they did a good cleaning after previous pet guests, as there were no signs of pets in the room. I was also so pleased that they gave us a room on the first floor when I asked for it at check-in. The process of checking in and out was smooth and easy. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and quiet. It was a queen suite with a full-sized refrigerator, countertop range, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, ice maker, utensils, etc. The bathroom included full sized bottles of Dove Daily Moisture shampoo and conditioner and Dove handwash, plus a hairdryer. There’s plenty of space outside to walk your pets, plus a pet cleanup station. There’s also a patio with a grill in the back, and the staff even hosted a burger and hotdog cookout one night and socialized with guests. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the area, especially if you have pets.

“This place is very conveniently located, it is very clean! The service is Amazing, they absolutely treat you with the utmost respect! plenty of parking! Right on the beach! Just walk out the back door! Balconies facing the beach! Wonderful vacation there!

“The resort itself is a bit dated but the price you’re paying reflects that fairly. Prime location with secure garage or optional overflow lot. The garage is not that bad, as many other reviews mention, it’s fine if you’re comfortable driving your own vehicle. Jonathan and Jessica are very helpful and helped us with all of our requests.”

“We stayed in room 328, which is an ocean view room w/ kitchenette. We really loved the balcony. There was surfing event and we had the perfect view of some amazing surfers from the balcony! Everything was perfect. The room was immaculate and it smelled so nice. The temp in the room was a perfect 70 degrees. The AC worked great. The beds were VERY comfy. There was a small kitchen table in the room with seating for 4, which was very useful. There was also a large side chair with an ottoman that was super comfy. The bathroom was small but the shower water pressure was amazing! We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!”

“Visited in October 2014. The stay was filled with pleasant surprises. There was free parking right in front of the hotel, and we received a very nice welcome package despite only staying for one night. The hotel’s location was ideal, situated next to the boardwalk and beach, with direct access from the lobby. Our room was absolutely great, boasting an impressive view. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, especially considering the rate.”

“Overall, a solidly above-average hotel to help soak in the wonderful views of the beach (of which I saw a huge whale just right off our 2nd floor balcony, out on the horizon), and be entrenched in events and goings-ons of both the Strip and the Boardwalk. Our room had a jacuzzi, which is always a plus, the hotel had a quaint indoor pool (of which the fam and I enjoyed), and the staff was courteous and accomodating. The only reason I am not giving this place a full 5 star is because SURELY there are better hotels out there, so I am holding out on that perfect score when I find such a place.

Either way, great stay, fun time!

Safety: Never felt unsafe nor unwanted in or around the hotel. If anything, I ended up talking to the front desk clerk for an hour about random stuff, and later in the evening, I hung out with some random, chill dude I met in front of the hotel.”

“The location is so great and the parking is very convenient. The room is quite adequate and the oceanfront balcony is a must. The bed and pillows are too soft for my liking. However, working for a construction company and trying to schedule multiple quantities of rooms and accommodations has been a nightmare, between being hung up on and not being called back for quotes. If you plan to stay here, I recommend not being in a hurry.”

“We like our stay with spacious 2 queen beds suite with 2 TVs. Rooms and bathroom are clean, beds are comfortable. Great location and view is amazing; plus quick access to the beach. Breakfast is yummy except they close it by 9a instead of 10a like most places. Staff are friendly & helpful. Pool is okay but would prefer longer hours.Only thing that I noticed that hotel is a bit old with older doors and elevator. Just like most beach hotels here are old but they tried to renovate most part of the building.”

All of the staff treated us like family. The resorts proximity to family favs like Watermans, the playground, and biking is perfect. Ample on-site parking and great views.”

“Best kept secret. Clean and well maintained. Seems to recently have received a proper face lift... not simply a coat of paint. Paint, flooring, fixtures, linens, furniture. Clean lines, good space, clean accommodations.”

“We did Expedia for our room.. upon getting there we knew nothing. The room we stayed in wasn’t no 5 star but it did the job for just sleeping in! The floor tiles were falling apart and the furniture had water damaged but that’s just cosmetics. As soon as I got there I checked for bugs and they passed that! Staff was absolutely amazing, house keeping came everyday and freshened up our room and towels! And the views were absolutely incredible! I definitely recommend this place as long as you're not concerned about cosmetic! Also as I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels including Hiltons, and the water never gets hot! But here the water got hot here like super hot 10 out of 10 for that! The pool was awesome as well as they have the big pool and a kiddie pool for your toddlers ❤️

Food and drinks: Breakfast was basically cereal, bagels, microwave omelet, toast or eggos (waffles) yogurt, fruit, muffins and the breakfast lady was amazing ❤️”

“We had blood on our pillow cases, lampshade, a broken light and the guy at the front desk gave me new pillow cases looked at the light and nobody came up to fix the light or get rid of the bloody lampshade!! We got stuck on the elevators, my kids wouldn’t swim because the water in the pool was gross!! Only good thing was our view besides that the hotel and rooms were disgusting!!!Rooms: Gross!!Nearby activities: Shopping and food places are walking distance!Safety: Didn’t feel safe for my kids to walk around the hotel alone!!!Walkability: Pretty good!Food & drinks: Good and drinks were ok outside of the hotel!Noteworthy details: They need better cleaning staff!!!”

“This is a nice hotel love that its right on the beach. We had a balcony which was great to sit on and listen to the waves and watch the dolphins and boats. The only complaints I have is the faucet in the shower didn't work. The toaster didn't work, the stools at the kitchen table were very wobbly and the toilet moves and shakes when you sit on it. Other then that we were happy with our stay”

“Great staff and place! Was there for a soccer tournament and everyone we interacted with was amazing. I can’t remember everyone’s names but literally everyone was great. The GM, Desirae (I think that was her name) the gentleman who worked late, the amazing overnight lady…..we will be back”

“Such amazing staff. Worked with us so well even though we arrived very late. It was great coming to a clean room with nice amenities. Beautiful view from the balcony and right next to the beach. I can’t emphasize just how nice the staff were. I’ll definitely be coming back just for the friendly faces!”

“I was a bit worried about my stay here because of the bad reviews. As always the negative comments seem to have been from those hard to please. Was it a perfect place? Not really. It could use a remodel (management says its in the works). There has been a heat index of over 100 degrees here in Norfolk during my stay so the fact the ac worked was great. It was a little loud but I'm cool. The shower could stand a little more pressure for my liking but I'm clean. Everything appeared clean, no mold in the showers, bedding was clean.
If you're travelling under orders, don't sweat this place (heat index aside). I'm sure IF there is something not to your liking, let the manager know. I'm convinced she will try to help.”
