“I could not rate the rooms because I did not stay there. I dropped my daughter off to her prom. The only reason I took away a star is because the parking and pick up/drop off area was so congested and confusing. There was nowhere to park and at times it was hard to tell exactly where one was supposed to be to pickup and drop off. I ended up going out of the way because the attendant told me I couldn't pick up from the spot I was in. When I did the loop I couldn't find anywhere to park so I could call or text my daughter and tell her I was there so I had to turn off on some side street, go all the way down and come back up. Otherwise, it appears the kids had a nice time and from the pictures I could tell it was a nice venue.”

“I liked my stay here. Convenient because my conference was held at the Hilton across the street. Rooms were nice. I especially loved my window view over the waterfront. The M Lounge is a bit dated aesthetically but good for breakfast, snacks, and drink refills throughout the day. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Fitness center was larger than I expected and I enjoyed going on the machines facing the waterfront. The indoor pool may run a bit cold, though.”

“This is an older hotel but they have made many updates. I was pleasantly surprised and you cannot beat the location right on the beach. Staff was very friendly. Room service came daily unlike many other hotels. I will stay here again.”

“First let me start off by complementing the front desk staff. I have not encountered a front desk personnel that I had any issue with they are all very professional and personable. The rooms for the most part are very comfortable and this hotel is actually pretty quiet despite being mostly booked. One thing I’m not too keen on is the gap underneath the door but that’s easy enough to correct with a towel. You can tell this hotel gets high traffic but for the amount of traffic it sees it’s in pretty good shape. That said, you can also tell during renovations like a lot of hotels the contractor skipped or cut corners. The room was clean and comfortable though. I have stayed here twice and will stay here again. No fault of its own the only thing I do wish is that it was more convenient to restaurants and things of that sort that are available in the Greenbrier area. But if you’re commuting to naval Station Norfolk it’s a shorter commute than staying that far out.”

“Great experience across the board. A clean and comfortable room on the ground level. they even allowed me to check in early. The provided a decent iron/ironing board for me since there was not one in the room. Housekeeping made sure I had enough towel and washcloths. Overall, it exceeded my expectations.”

“I had a lovely experience living here for a couple of weeks, with my husband and kids.
We felt safe, was peaceful, a lot of amenities that came in handy, friendly staff, and whenever you request for something they are so quick to help out. I definitely recommend.”

“If you are reading reviews, I'm going to be completely honest. Room was clean, beds comfortable, water clean. TV worked but you need to point the remote to the cable box under the TV not at the tv to change channels. Air and heat worked well. Some water damage to celing and floors. Towels were a bit stained. We went to the Dollar Store and bought hand towels and used our own beach towels. Fridge and Microwave worked as they should. Alot of humidity made it hard for things to dry once wet. Rates were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Rooms: Room 214 was clean. Some water damage but it didn't affect the stay.

Nearby activities: We walked to the Pier. 2.00 to walk it 11.00 to fish. Can rent poles for 10.00 plus 20.00 cash deposit. Well worth it.

Safety: The motel has security cameras. Deadbolt on the doors. We stayed Saturday through Tuesday night with no issues.

Walkability: Stairs and elevator. Some standing water on walk ways. It rained the entire time we were there though.”

“Room was large and well equipped for a long stay. Everything worked and it was cleaned before arrival. The front desk was friendly, fast and professional. They also have a great gym and outdoor grilling area. It’s not a hotel I would stay in for a few nights on vacation with my family but I will request it with through my company for work out of town.”

“This place is NOT Motel 6 and is now Wyndam. I talked to the clerk behind the desk and asked when did they become Wyndam fro Motel 6? The replied that it has been Wyndam for the last 2 months.”

“I wanted to take a moment to recognize the outstanding hospitality my family received during our week-long holiday stay at the Wyndham Garden Norfolk.

Traveling with a six-week-old newborn can be stressful, but the staff made us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived. Our first night presented a few challenges, but Damion handled the situation professionally and respectfully. He communicated with the manager, Debra, to ensure everything was addressed the following morning. What impressed me most was that Michiah personally called to check on us afterward to make sure we were doing well. That level of care and follow-up is something you don’t often experience.

Throughout our stay, I witnessed Michiah and Ms. Debra treat every guest with patience, professionalism, and grace—even when some guests were less than kind. Their ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-focused is exactly what great customer service looks like. They made such a positive impression on me that I remembered both of their names.

I’d also like to recognize the housekeeper with dreadlocks, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch. She was warm, friendly, and always greeted us with a smile. The young gentleman who helped us move rooms and even assisted me after I accidentally left my cup also deserves recognition for his kindness and willingness to help.

Despite the hotel being busy with holiday travelers, the team never made us feel overlooked. They managed multiple check-ins while still providing personal, attentive service to every guest I observed.

We also really enjoyed the restaurant and the pool. They were well maintained and never felt overcrowded, making it easy for our family to relax. The holiday weather was extremely hot, but it was absolutely worth it because we had the perfect view of the fireworks right from the hotel.

What truly made this trip memorable wasn’t just the accommodations—it was the people. The staff created an atmosphere where we felt welcomed, valued, and supported throughout our entire stay. Thank you to Damion, Michiah, Ms. Debra, the housekeeping team, and everyone else who helped make our holiday such a wonderful experience. We truly appreciate your dedication and hope your leadership recognizes the exceptional service you provide.

“Not the fanciest hotel, but met our needs. Actually looked better in person than it did in pictures which surprised me lol. Nice location on the beach. We could see the ocean from our room. The staff were super friendly. The owners stopped by our room after we checked in and brought extra toiletries and towels for our stay and welcomed us. That was so sweet and surprising. I am definitely returning. Thank you, Ocean view Hotel!”
