The Best Western Historic Area Inn offers clean and functional rooms, though some are fairly basic and smaller than expected. The hotel has a very nice lobby and a good location with easy access to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and walkable restaurants and stores. The excellent, friendly, and personable front desk staff take the hotel up a notch, creating a feeling like a B&B. Staff are extremely polite and helpful. The free breakfast and nice pool are great pluses, with attendants checking on the food. However, the breakfast was not good and not well maintained. The pool area has issues with water dripping and rust. Some problems were noted, including a non-working refrigerator, carpet needing cleaning, and an unacceptable incident with a spider. The hot tub was sometimes murky. Despite these cons, the staff's sincerity and the overall value make it a worthwhile home base for visitors.

Close proximity to Busch Gardens and restaurants. The rooms are older and need some extra TLC especially bathrooms.

Please tell me why there was a WOLF SPIDER ON MY PILLOW IN MY ROOM? Absolutely unacceptable. We were told to “take 2 pillows and kill it”. Absolutely not acceptable.
