“Excellent customer service. We need an unusual breaker box for a pair of breakers for a hot tub. Most tubs need a 50-Amp circuit breaker; we need a 20 and a 30, separately, in the same box. We think we've ordered the right breakers, if we can get a box to hold them. Down we go to CED. Us: We have MODEL 30 and 20 amp breaker and need a box to put them in, for a hot tub. Counter Guy: Most hot tubs need a 50 Amp breaker. Us: Understood, but this tub is unusual, Electrician brought breakers and they won't work. C.G.: While electrician? Us: Company... C.G. Oh yes, we work with them. Is this Derek? Us: Yes. C.G. You just missed him. He was here just a minute ago. I can call him. Us: ! Thanks! C.G. called Derek the electrician (removing the homeowner middleman from the conversation), tells him what we're looking at, gets a confirmation of what we need... We buy the box. Now THAT is Customer Service!”

“My husband went to grab a couple things, leaving me stationed in the Halloween aisle like a hostage — a very entertained hostage. Enter Gerald (not his real name), a 12-foot pumpkin-head skeleton who looms over the entire section like he's judging everyone's life choices, mine included. Nearby, an animatronic witch with a look like she's got a personal vendetta. Rotten Cotton Candy Girl and the Ice Scream Delight skeleton are out here winning at wordplay so hard, the other decorations should be embarrassed. By the time my husband finally reappeared, I'd fully redesigned our front yard in my head, twice, and made unsettling eye contact with Gerald at least four more times. As much as I wanted to buy, I walked away empty-handed. Gerald doesn't care. Gerald wins either way. Go check out Lowe's Halloween lineup, and let Gerald know his reign of terror has fans!!
