“I had such an exceptional experience working with Birch, the Assistant Manager. I recently adopted a rescue dog, Chanel, and as a resident in Ballard, I had a lot of questions and needed guidance on just about everything.
Birch went above and beyond in every way. Not only was the level of knowledge impressive, but the time taken to truly listen and understand what I needed for Chanel specifically made all the difference. The recommendations were thoughtful, practical, and clearly came from a place of real care and expertise.
What stood out most was the compassion and kindness. It’s clear there is a genuine passion for helping both animals and their owners. That combination of professionalism and personal care is rare.
I left feeling confident, supported, and honestly grateful for the experience. I haven’t encountered customer service like that in a long time. Birch is an absolute asset, and I will absolutely be coming back because of this experience.”
“had a super oddly specific request where one of my dogs is a much slower and weaker chewer than my other, but still wanted her to have as much fun as her brother. the staff gave 2 recommendations, and both dogs are so happy! Fae (the brown girl, light chewer) is eating the No Hide Dog Chew salmon recipe, and Toby (tan boy, heavy chewer) is eating a beef cheek roll!”

“I went in one Mmud Nat for a harness and they didn’t have my size Color so the clerk helped me try one on of different color for fit and then called another store to find the size and color I needed. They put it on hold for 2 days and I picked up and no wait or fuss. The harness was pricey but I am not sure that is a Mud Bay markup. Also their rewards program is pretty lame and the
Clerk was unconvincing of its worth. Basically receipt tracking was the selling point and. It worth it to me. So a point off for those issues. Otherwise clean stores and helpful welcoming staff who clearly like animals.”
“I love this store! They’re always so kind, even offer to carry my dog food out for me. I go for the Fromm brand dog food but they have a lot of high quality options and don’t look at you weird when you spend time reading all the ingredients :)”

“i just got a new cat!! i’ve never had my own cat before, so i wasn’t sure what she would need. i asked the staff and they were so friendly and knowledgeable about different types of litter, dry food, wet food, and treat options. they also gave us some samples to try out to see what she likes best! i also had a bit of a panic right after my girl’s spay- she got the cone off in about 3 seconds, even when i tied it tighter. i took her in and they helped me find a bodysuit that would fit to cover her incision til it heals. i will definitely be coming back here!”
“Cats Exclusive is an excellent vet if you are looking for cat specialists. They also have many cat supplies, from cat food to litter to toys. If your cat requires prescription food, it is available here. They also have boarding options.
The prices are reasonable, and it's definitely worth it to have a team that specializes in cats.”

“I cannot say enough about how much I love shopping here! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they obviously really care about their customers and their pets! I have two cats and went through a period of time where they were being really picky about food and one was having digestive issues. At All the Best they were so understanding of what I was going through trying to find food that works for my cats! They have a color coding system which lets you know the textures of different food etc… but the game changer for me was one of the employees recommendation of an enzyme supplement that I mix into their food (the wisely one)! Once I started mixing the enzyme into their food the little one stopped having digestive problems and they both decided they agreed on a food they liked. I think maybe it wasn’t so much the food but how they felt after eating it that made the difference. I haven’t had them snub anything since they started the enzyme.In addition to providing great guidance on food etc… the staff is just really friendly and seem to genuinely like talking to their customers and hearing about their pets and lives. When I’m feeling depressed or yucky I usually avoid errands because I get anxious and I never feel the need to avoid coming here. I know if I come in feeling less than 100% that I’ll leave in better condition than when I came in. I don’t buy cat food anywhere else anymore! This shop is my #1”

“Excellent facility; my guinea pig had cancer and was beyond saving, but they were able to make her more comfortable. A week later, Strawberry (the guinea pig) passed away peacefully and painlessly in her sleep.”

“I had the most lovely experience at the store today! After my cat had surgery at a nearby clinic, I forgot to bring a cone with me for her car ride back, leaving her at risk of disrupting her fresh sutures. In a mild rush and panic, I called Mud Bay and spoke to Emma, who was able to quickly procure a couple different E Collars in appropriate sizes for for my cat. She had them ready for me at the front to check out as soon as I walked in the door, and I was able to get my cat safely home! Thank you so much for the amazing help. 🐾💓”

“The X-LG cheese was perfect size for my bulldog. In the past my dog chewed on bully sticks or an elk antler but these are a great alternative as it is highly digestible and no smell. Will continue to buy Yeti Cheese chews.”

KOBY is an awesome young man and obviously loves the animals. He helped me pick this sweet parakeet. And guess what, I named him Koby on the spot! “I wanted to take a moment to recognize Corey at PetSmart for going above and beyond for me and my dog, Nemo.
Nemo is a three-legged dog, and Corey gave us his undivided attention from the moment he started helping us. He was incredibly patient and made sure to accommodate her disability and find what would work best for her.
What really stood out to me was that Corey noticed I needed to keep a tight grip on Nemo while managing all of the equipment we had. Without me even having to ask, he helped carry everything outside and load it up for me.
That might seem like a small gesture, but it meant a lot. Corey didn’t just show up and do the minimum required of his job. He was genuinely kind, attentive, and willing to help another person and their dog. You can tell when someone is simply providing customer service versus when someone is actually a warm-hearted person who cares — Corey is definitely the latter.
PetSmart, give this guy a raise! Employees like Corey are the reason customers remember a store and want to come back. Thank you, Corey, for taking such great care of Nemo and helping us out!”
