“I rent there currently. The neighborhood is filled with nice people that report any weird activity. The big storage rooms, that are not gated, are 24hours. I do a lot of buying and selling on the internet and it's nice being able to stop in anytime and check my merchandise. “We had an excellent experience with PODS. We moved from MO to WA and everything went exactly according to plan. All interactions with them on the phone and in person were friendly, professional, and they really make a point of confirming all details so that there are no surprises.
After we filled the container and it was picked up, we changed our mind about the destination and they were able to accommodate that no problem. We ended up having it delivered to a Public Storage facility, where I had to be there to let them in and out of the gate, and that ended up being no problem for them.
The 3-hour time estimate window they give you the night before delivery or pickup were all accurate, and they give you a call about 30 mins ahead of time on the day of. The only exception was the final pickup of the empty container. The initial estimate was 9:30am - 12:30pm. By 12:45pm I still hadn't heard anything, so I checked the status on their website and the estimate had changed to 11:30am - 2:30pm. Weird that I didn't get notified about that, but they did call at 1:00pm to say they would be there in 30 mins, so it all worked out.
Both Roland who delivered the full POD to the storage facility and Craig who came for the final pickup were nice, and went above and beyond in dealing with the very specific placement the property owner had specified, which involved flipping the POD around so that the door faced the storage units and not a fence line :)
The final costs were exactly what we had originally been quoted.
The PODZilla device they use to get the POD on and off the truck is a great invention, and the drivers are pretty amazing at using it with precision.
