“I recently visited Heron's Key with my son. We toured Skill Nursing, several common gathering areas, and had a healthy, well prepared meal in the restaurant. He overwhelmingly approved of my choice to spend the golden years there. His comments included that all the staff members he had encountered looked happy, the residents he engaged with were friendly and the grounds and building appeared well maintained. All things that spoke volumes about the management. An hour after leaving the restaurant I received a call that I had left my wallet on the table. “I came to town to visit a friend and she suggested we come to the Boat Shop to do their community rowing program. Our boat was the Porpoise, and I had a lot of fun with rowing and helping to hold the sail. I’ve never done that before, and the group was so kind and helpful. They took the time to explain what we were doing and teach me about the boat. It was really nice to get out and try something new and I look forward to coming back again! This was great for beginners as well as anyone who is experienced. It was the perfect length to get a good work out in. After we rowed out to the light house, we got to sail back in and enjoy the scenery. We were also given some history on the shop, the harbor, and the boats that they maintain and restore. It was, overall, fun and education. I highly recommend it.”
