“The most charming book store ever! I went here for the event with Edd Kimber yesterday and it was so much fun! There’s an endless amount of cookbooks to browse and so many selections that you wouldn’t even think of! I ended up walking away with Edd’s newest book, Chocolate Baking and his best seller, Small Batch Bakes, he signed both for me after the demonstration and was such a pleasure to chat with. He made us the chocolate mousse with sea salt, olive oil and toasted, sugared hazelnuts, which was DEVINE. I’ll be coming back to this store for all my future cook book purchases and be looking out for events, too!”
“I love perusing the shelves at Brick & Mortar Books! The store has a warm, cozy ambiance. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They offer a nice selection of books and a variety of other items such as greeting cards, games, puzzles, tea, candles, art supplies, stationery, fun novelty items, and more. I appreciate that they carry products from local PNW businesses. You can also get a loyalty stamp card where you earn $20 to spend in-store for every $200 you spend! They host many author events, along with genre-based book clubs, and fun summer reading challenges. I'm super grateful to have this independent bookstore near me! ❤”

“We were on a fun trip with our 14-year-old son. And I thought this bookstore might be good for us to drop by. He wasn't convinced that there would be anything for him there. We were so pleasantly surprised that she had everything organized so well. We all found books we liked and the setting was really nice. She is nice art pieces at the very top of the ceiling and then she has these amazing wooden bookcases so the whole vibe was really wonderful. The woman who was running the bookstore was so knowledgeable and patient with our questions and discussions. We highly recommend you drop by and take about 30 minutes to at least look through her great collection.”

“Good variety and reasonably priced. However if you are buying vinyl records, I would caution you. The used open records that I purchased all had scratches and skipped or got stuck when playing. Fortunately they do offer a 7 day return policy.”

Also, they get their coffee beans from Cloud City, an absolute institution in the Seattle roasting scene, which makes for a really lovely cup to savor with your new reads. :)”

“I discovered Queen Anne Book Company on a recent visit to Seattle. A small, independent shop, it offered a nice selection of books, along with some small gift items. If in the Queen Anne area, perusing the store’s selection is a nice way to spend time.”

“It's bold having a brand new bookstore one store down from a used bookstore, but somehow Half-Price Books and this Barnes & Noble have lived in harmony for over two decades. It effectively gives you the chance to get a book selection from official publishers or a book selection that's a total lottery. These days, I find myself walking out of B&N here with something just as often as Half-Price, if not a little more. The store's layout is cozy and has nice sized sections, including entire corners for things like Manga and horror that often get a single shelf elsewhere. The prices are obviously steeper at B&N, but they entirely lack the sticker Half-Price puts on the covers of their books. Staff can sometimes be a little sparse, but they're always great service when they're around. Occasionally some weirdo will sit down and eat their lunch in there, despite it being a bookstore without a café of any kind, but that's about as intense and crowded as the atmosphere gets. It's a really good, lowkey place, especially given it's sitting right next to another bookstore.”
“I have this same store in another location. The layout makes more sense and is easier to figure out where things are. Knowing it can be better i dock 1 star. Otherwise it was great. Staff was nice and helpful and knowledgeable”

And great prices! The staff are warm and friendly as well. I wished I lived in Seattle so I could visit all the time”

Parking on the street in front from 10-3 or paid parking across the street in the mall parking garage.”
“I stop by here on occasion to look for their varied selection of incense and oils, and the staff is incredibly kind and friendly every time. There is one man with long gray hair who occasionally works the cashier who's always a joy to talk to whenever I come in. I remember coming in wearing a NiGHTS Into Dreams shirt once and he was fascinated by it and asked who the character on it was. I'm going to miss this place when I leave.”
