“The Podiatrist at American Lake VA sent us to Althea's Footwear to be measured for custom inserts & 2 pair of shoes. The staff is the BEST EVER!! This was my initial visit so I had no idea what to expect. Yes, there was "The Paperwork" ~ but it was only 1 page! The store was very busy. Seemed like "at the mall" busy but without the chaos!? Pam is the "Staff person" that is in charge of my case ~ I mean order. ? She's a professional who puts you (me) immediately at ease because she is sooooo knowledgeable & has a great sense of humor.?? After explaining "the processes" (as well as patiently answering my many questions) Pam scanned each foot. The digital image allows the computer to take care of the custom orthotics. Next ~ choose my 2 pair of shoes! So many shoes! Pam's knowledge & guidance helped me quickly make my choices. All should be ready in about 4-5 weeks, UGH!! Pam will ensure the orthotics are a true custom fit for my feet & will fit properly into my NEW SLIP-ON shoes! I can't wait to slip into my "properly fitting" shoes (with it's properly/custom made insert)?? It will no longer be a project to put my shoes on & walk ~ pain free. “The only place I've been able to get shoes for the past couple of years. See I wear size 14 - 15 men's and shoe places normally don't stock sizes that large. So finding something I liked wasn't that big of a deal elsewhereHowever sizes are.”
