“Dan's is a Leavenworth institution. Despite the fact there is one of the national chain grocery stores a few blocks away, Dan's is our go to for most items (and they have a wide enough assortment that you should be able to find it at Dan's).
They have a good selection of beer, liquor and wine, a counter with hot food, a bakery with some of the best molasses cookies you can find and much more.
The staff is friendly. Big parking lot, easy to park. Has all the brands and items you would expect to find. And the thing is, the pricing is close to what some of the national chains have without having to deal with the national chains.”
“For a place that has stood here for decades it still has a local feel to it. Nice people overall but you can really tell the place is a vacation beer stop more than a local store anymore. The parking lot also can be a zoo on the weekends.”

Temporarily closed! As of today (Friday, April 18 2025) the Safeway fuel station is closed for maintenance and service for approximately two weeks. (Other than that, the staff is always excellent and welcoming here.)”

The new owners are so friendly and are clearly investing in the business, with a new espresso machine and patio to enjoy hand scooped ice cream in the summer. So much more than just a place to get gas!”
