About Discovery Park

Discovery Park is a beautiful and spacious outdoor area in Seattle that offers something for everyone year-round. Visitors can enjoy the scenic path around the park, walk down to the beach, and take in views of the sound. The park features a cultural center midway along the full loop, and there are many trails suitable for hiking, walking, or running. The beach area is easily accessible and perfect for exploring, especially at low tide, with opportunities to see wildlife and enjoy the beaches. The park is also home to a lighthouse, meadow, and various wildlife sights, making it a great place to observe nature. There are kid play areas, tennis courts, and plenty of spots for dogs to play. The park is less crowded in the early mornings on weekdays, which is ideal for quiet walks and spotting bald eagles. While the trails have hills, narrow paths, and jagged edges, and parking is limited near the lighthouse, the extensive trails and scenic views make it worth the visit. Visitors often take photos here, enjoy different paths each visit, and appreciate the peaceful, natural environment.
