The MV Skansonia is a historic retired Washington State ferry boat permanently docked on north Lake Union. It offers an unbeatable view of the downtown Seattle skyline, the Space Needle, and Lake Union. For over 35 years it has hosted weddings, parties, and events. Guests praise the elegant, moody, PNW style and the indoor/outdoor options that work even in rain. The venue has nice corners for photos, a dance floor after dinner, heaters for getting ready, and a bar centered for easy access. The photobooth uses the natural boat background and is popular with DJs. Staff are organized, helpful, and flexible. The event coordinator works closely with couples to make everything run smoothly. Some guests noted a missing catering order for veggies and a cocktail mix‑up, but the staff apologized and offered a tasty fix. Limited plugs upstairs mean a portable battery can be handy. Couples can choose a controlled indoor ceremony or enjoy a floating party boat that floats by and cheers. I’ve DJ’d all of the landmark events venues and this one is a ton of fun and makes for a really unique experience. The photobooth was great using the natural boat background and was great having the bar very centered as well.

Our wedding at MV Skansonia was amazing! What a beautiful and unique venue! Our guests continued to rave about the view all night. Stefanie is amazing and was such a pleasure to work with. The landmark staff was extremely accommodating and flexible and amazing to work with.

Had an amazing experience getting married at the MV Skansonia with Stephanie Jones as our event coordinator!!! It was the absolute best day and she could not have been a more incredible partner throughout the process. Still beaming ear to ear!!! Everything was perfect.
