Looked all over for a place to hold my granddaughter's birthday party. Met with Alexaundra, Assistant General Manager. We were shown the room & told what the hourly rate was. There is a bar in the lobby area. With most of the guests working in the hospitality field, it was a bonus! We were told there was a 3-hour minimum, tables, linens, & chairs being included, & we could use the tv for a slide show. She said typically the bartender isn't there until 4, but she could have them come earlier if we'd like. We said that 4 would be just fine. Paid the $349, set the date, & time 3-6pm. We got there after 3, only to find the room was not set up with any tables, chairs, or linens. The front desk lady said she didn't know anything about the party. She did get a housekeeper to help set it up fairly quickly. So at 3:50 the room was finally able for us to put things together. I went back to the front desk where a man was attending. I asked if a manager was available? He said, "I am the manager." I asked what happened in regards to the room not being prepared? He said, "I had no idea there was a gathering. I didn't schedule the party." I asked, "Are you responsible for this facility?" He laughed & said "obviously." Well then, you are who is responsible for it not being ready. He snidely said, "You could cancel the party." The tv wouldn't show the slide show (front desk didn't know how to help) & there was no bartender for the day either! I really had to step back! So you're telling me because your establishment didn't prepare for the gathering I paid for I should cancel the party? I've never had someone in ANY place talk to me with so much disregard. Guests were coming in & I decided to address the issue later, preferably with someone higher than him. I called back the next day & asked if the General Manager was available? Low & behold, the same rude man was the general manager! I asked for the corporate number. He stated he was the highest person I could speak with! I got online & made contact with someone in Arizona. She took the information & said the hotel would be in contact. The 1st email suggested 10% back. I said we felt the 1st hour should be refunded since it was not ready until almost 4. She didn't have the authorization to do that & $47.50 was the best she could do. I will never schedule a gathering there again & want to make sure others know what their getting into! Worst guest service I've had to deal with in a long time! Strongly suggest going elsewhere! I wish there was no star raiting because that's what they would get from me!

We arrived at the Best Western Plus Hotel around 12 pm in Tacoma Washingtonon Christmas Eve, 2023. I'm a disabled veteran and have a service dog. Wechecked in with the lady in the front and told her about our special requestof service dogs written on the special requests box when we booked onlinethrough Booking.com. She said that it was okay, and we paid for our bookingand checked into our room. I went to the restroom while my partner took myservice dog outside to use the restroom. My partner came back up to the roomand said that we must pack our belongings and leave because we are beingkicked out. I thought he was joking at first but realized he was serious. Weboth went downstairs to talk to the General manager (Erin Singh) and beforeI can talk, he said that my dog was not a service dog and said, "as amatter-of-fact service animal aren't allowed in rooms by themselves" andexplained that he will have to go up and check for any damages. This wasconfusing because he just said my dog wasn't a service animal and said theyaren't allowed to be alone when we only left the dog alone to speak to him.I asked, "how do you know that my dog isn't a service dog?". He said " Ijust know that the dog isn't a service dog. I asked his again whatspecifically makes my dog not a service dog and he just repeated himselfsaying he just knows; this repeated another time. He said he had audiorecording of my partner saying the dog was an emotional support dog, but mypartner spoke out and said he never said that the manager didn't respond. Hethen threatened that we would not get a full refund for the room and said wecan leave right now with the service dog or if we want to stay the servicedog would have to leave. I said he can't do that because my dog is a servicedog and he proceeded to ask me what my disability was. I started to explainmyself even though I shouldn't have to, and he kept cutting me off fromtalking and said my dog is more of an emotional support dog since it's amental disability. We decided that there was no talking to the manager sincehe was stuck in his opinion of my dog being an ESA dog even though I triedexplaining what my service dog is trained to do when I have an episode ofPTSD/anxiety. We gathered our belongings and service dog and left, themanager refunded us our stay and gave us the number for corporate to file acomplaint. We left and I shortly had an episode due to the managersaggressive and disrespectful behavior towards me and how dismissive he wasabout my disability and my service dog.

Stayed a night and the room was clean and smelled good. Pool was nice and warm. Front desk lady was nice and informative. Breakfast was amazing! Out of all the hotels and complementary breakfasts I’ve had this one is the best! Large quantity of food was available and it was all delicious. Breakfast attendee was nice and was very welcoming early morning. The location is off the path a bit and the gas station on the corner is very sketchy but there was a security guard and cameras which makes it feel safer. Will be back in the future!

Highly recommend this hotel! We had a great stay, delicious breakfast, and comfortable rooms. The staff was incredibly friendly. The breakfast options were not only tasty but also varied to suit different preferences. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained. We couldn’t use gym and pool area but looked well maintained.

There were minor things of dust build up, back of bathroom door was wiped down, bathroom sink wasn't clean.. but the pool area was nice, fitness room is small and quiet, and for the most part the rooms are nice. Just wish I could open my window for fresh

Tacoma Best Western not so good employees. Especially if your disabled , I cannot find for the life of me an ADA trained attorney to retain in the area . So now I've taken a hit on out credit card for non legit charges.

I travel to help set up concerts, I had an excellent 2 day stay.An Effortless check-inClean, comfortable roomClose to the DomeCory, the night security officer, patrolled that parking-lot as if he took ours and the safety of our vehicle personally. (He did, it was obvious)The morning biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon and gravy deserves a full write-up on their own.It was an excellent visit.

Are room had a small Ant issue in the bathroom area. We requested a bathtub but the Lady at check in said their rooms were showers only; but not a deal breaker. The area is a bit shady so don’t go out at night and park in their secured parking. Very clean room and very personable check in staff. Would we stay here again; Absolutely.

Extremely clean, neat, and pretty inside. When I walked into the lobby, the high ceilings and light colored walls made the space feel huge! The front desk staff was personable, explained all aspects of my stay, and was polite in helping me find my way. The elevator (which is something I always assess when I travel) appeared clean and well maintained. The hallways smell fresh the bed is extremely comfortable. I have reserved a standard queen room, which has a beautiful modern chair/ottoman and lamp set up, desk and work chair, and large TV. I love the decorations and mirrors as well as the set up in the bathroom. It all feels very modern with crisp lines. Because I travel so often, I am always looking for rooms that have microwaves and mini fridge. They also have a keurig station, which is a nice plus amenity. Overall great experience.

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Front desk staff were very polite and welcoming. The hotel was clean, modern and safe. Beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was cold and the room was very clean. Room was cleaned daily. Gym and pool area was well maintained. Hot and tasty breakfast was provided every morning- eggs, potatoes, bacon, turkey sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, bagels, sliced bread, croissants, muffins and fresh fruit. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again whenever I’m in town.

The motel is nice but the manager, Aaron, is Rude, unprofessional, has ZERO customer service skills and will cancel your reservation in the middle of your stay, with your personal belongings still in room and lie and say you canceled it and gave it someone else who wasn't even at property. He refused to compensate for inconvenience and stress, refused any assistance at all. I've stayed at many Best Westerns and always had good experiences until this one. I see from another review, he does this to other people as well.

As a Best Western Rewards member, I always look forward to staying at a Best Western, but I’ve never felt as comfortable and safe at any other Best Western as I do at this location. The building it very secure and you can only enter the building with your key card. The staff are incredibly nice and ensure I have everything I need. Their are several beverages and snacks available at the front desk (I’ve honestly never seen such a wide variety at a hotel) and the breakfast is great. I’ve stayed at this location for up to a week at a time for work, and never had anything less than an amazing experience. Also, the view from the fourth floor at sunset is a major plus.Rooms: Clean, spacious, and very nice!Nearby activities: Short 10-15 minute drive to Tacoma waterfront.Safety: Great! Can only enter building with key card. Parking lot has surveillance.

Very nice and clean outside and in. However it is one of loudest hotels I have ever stayed at. You could hear everything. The refrigerator kept making a popping sound that kept me awake most of the time. Our room had a few rouge ants in the bathroom. The black out blinds were awesome. Would stay here again with ear plugs. Located next door to Goodwill provided some entertainment.

One of the better BW I have stayed at. Nice lobby area. Breakfast was fairly standard with a few hot bonuses (biscuit and gravy!). 24/7 coffee tea bar. Pool was cool but comfortable for swimming, no hot tub. Staff lovely. Security guard on site. I saw other reviews re concerns over sketchiness. I didn't find this personally, I felt comfortable leaving my car on site especially with security guard there. Would stay here again.
