A bank should never lose its customer's money. But Umpqua does. Inept IT coupled with apathy to customer's rights to an assumption that Umpua is a professional institution. Since taking over Columbia, they simply dont care. Stay well clear of Umpqua.

Called in for clarity and assistance and when I was matter of fact, not rude, in being heard and asking my questions, I was told I was being testy and to calm down. Meanwhile the rep. Was short and cutting me off. In true fashion THE black woman was made out to be angry when the rep was failing to clearly hesr. I made her aware of her error and attempt in making me out to be such.t second strike with t his bank since the switch...My direct deposits will be going elsewhere soon as I make it to the Credit Union. I'm over it...

Went to Umpqua to close my account that I've had for 10+ years. Dotty was super friendly and helpful. Great customer service from Dotty.

I have never before written an online review. I do so today because of the terrible customer service I received regarding our personal checking account notwithstanding a long relationship with Columbia. My wife's wallet was stolen several months ago. We cancelled our old checking account and opened an new one. The bank assured us our auto-pay would be transferred to avoid any interruption of bill paying. This worked for several months and suddenly, without warning, it stopped. Monthly creditors were told our checking was "cancelled" even though the new account had ample funds. When asked to assist, the bank refused to help. "I don't have time to contact these folks". When asked why authorization could not be extended, the answer was "because that's the policy of another department". The lady couldn't care less about helping a long time customer. Extraordinarily disappointing. Apparently some think customers exist only for the bank's benefit. Years of good will down the drain. Hope others have better luck.

Friendly and helpful. I had the right people on staff to help me transfer our important documents. Being a customer there was no charge for this service

My wife and I have come to expect great customer service from everyone at Columbia Bank, however, I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Lynette Patterson for her excellent service earlier in the week. I stopped by the Fircrest Branch to get copies of some old records and cancelled checks I was needing for an audit of my business. Despite the fact that she was on her way to an appointment, she jumped right in and dug out all of the old records from the archives. My wife and I look forward to a continuing our personal banking relationship with "Puget Sound's" greatest bank.

My wife and I are both in the industry and we had the worst experience ever with Columbia Bank. Our officer, John Draper, was not good However some things happened that were beyond his control. We got a bad appraisal littered with errors and omissions, so bad the state came to our house to take pictures along with the owner of the appraisal management company. HUD also allowed us to get another appraisal before the 6 month waiting period typically required. John Draper, would not order a second appraisal despite even HUD telling him he could do so. Instead he insisted our only option was to allow the same appraiser in our home to re-inspect repairs we needed to make. This would have been revision 3 or 4 of this appraisers report and after the fact the state had been to our house to take pictures and document the appraiser violations. A side from that John Draper was rude to my wife. So much so that she snapped at him, and that is very rare for her to lose her patience. John Draper was rude, lied to me several times, accusatory, unprofessional, and down right disgusting to deal with. To this day Columbia Bank has the green light to give us another appraiser and they will not. Avoid Columbia Bank at all costs as they will not work for you. They will work against you. Reports by my wife and I are being filed with the attorney general, congressman, senators, NMLS, and any and all other people/agencies who have any say over the way places like Columbia Bank try to treat their customers when things would no longer be beneficial to them.
