“When we came from overseas a little over 3 years ago, we found Commencement Bay Animal Hospital had an opening for one of our cats that was ill. They took the time to get their records from our vet overseas and have done a great job taking care of them ever since.
I am sure there may be cheaper alternatives, but they have taken the time to be thorough and try to find ways to reduce the cost for my cats that require more care.”

“I’ve been taking my pets here for years at this point and have never had a bad experience with the staff, nor have I ever had to worry about the well-being of my animals in their care. Every single time I take my dog in for an appointment she gets so excited to see her friends in the office. Even after having her stitches removed following her spay surgery, she made me carry her to the car because she didn’t want to leave the staff inside the clinic. I like to think animals are great judges of character, and the way my dog reacts to coming and going reassures me that I made the right choice in care for my fur babies. Prices are great, people are friendly, and I would highly recommend giving them a shot!”
“We went to the Tacoma Animal Hospital when we couldn’t get into our regular vet until Sept 25th with our 12 year old cat, who we were sure had something terrible. We saw Dr. Notte on a next day appointment and he was just wonderful. Our cat is indeed ill with something terrible, and Dr. Notte took time to talk to us about Sam’s comfort and safety, and some guidance about euthanasia when it’s time for that. The cost of the visit and medication was very reasonable. Everyone—the front desk, techs and vet were all professional and very kind. We are VERY glad we took Sam to Tacoma Animal Hospital (on Center Street).”
“As the mom of 3 dogs who have faced many serious health issues, I have had lots of experiences with specialists, emergency hospitals, and veterinarians across more than five states. Because of that, I have become a fairly discerning pet owner and I can recognize when a veterinarian is truly passionate, knowledgeable, and committed to their patients.
Dr. Jagger is exactly that kind of veterinarian. She is not only highly skilled, but she also goes above and beyond to understand each patient’s condition, no matter how uncommon or complex it may be. We have seen her for issues such as IBD and heartworm disease—conditions that are not commonly treated in our area—and she has consistently put tremendous effort into making sure everything is done properly. We always felt exceptionally well cared for.
I first came to Dr. Jagger frightened and overwhelmed after receiving a very concerning diagnosis. From the beginning, she made me feel that she knew exactly what she was doing. She was compassionate, took extra time with us, and approached every detail with care and precision. I truly could not have asked for a better veterinarian.
We have been coming here for over three years. I waited to write this review because I wanted to share it after seeing the long-term results—and today, my dogs are doing great, all thanks to Dr. Jagger. We have found the perfect veterinarian, and I would not want to take my dogs anywhere else.
The front-desk staff also deserves recognition. They are consistently kind, patient, and genuinely eager to help, always without attitude.”

“I can’t thank this team enough. About a month ago, we brought our 11-year-old Lab in because he had developed a large, sudden growth on his shoulder. He had already had cancer removed in the past, so we were devastated and believed it was time to say goodbye to our boy.
We had already paid for euthanasia when the veterinarian came into the room, took the time to hear his story, and decided to do an ultrasound of the growth. She discovered that it was actually an infection and not a spread of cancer.
Our boy is doing absolutely amazing today, and our entire family is incredibly grateful. If the veterinarian hadn’t taken the extra time to ask questions and look further, we would have lost him when he still had plenty of life left.
Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of our boy and for giving our family more time with him. We will always be grateful.”

“Bottom line, if your pet is sick and you can't afford treatment, wherever you are, drive to see Dr Walia at Westgate. This wonderful man and his team have saved our cat's life several times while multiple other vets quoted us higher costs we couldn't afford. I have read the rest of the reviews and feel that he is being mischaracterized; yes, he is direct and short in conversation, but when you offer treatment at the cost he does, then every minute spent in conversation with one pet's parent is a minute spent away from saving another pet. All of his techs are warm and caring and I can't recommend Westgate enough. Also, pro tip, if you're here because your male cat has not urinated in over 12 hours and is showing signs of distress, call them now!”
“I want to say thank you to Dr. Kamal Walia and his team, both at AAH and at Westgate. I have been going to Dr. Kamal Walia for about two year now with my three pets, two with disabilities. Recently Dr. Kamal Walia stepped up to helped me and my 16yr old male cat by taking on two very sensitive surgeries with success. Dr. has continued to show curiosity, knowledge and determination for my cat’s aggressive ear cancer. I appreciate the help and care that Dr. and the vet tech team showed towards my old man.
