“West Columbia Gorge Humane Society was such a fun shelter to visit. Their team is genuinely sweet, welcoming, and an absolute joy to be around. The kind of people who make you understand pretty quickly why their animals are so well cared for. We were especially impressed by the care and attention given to their dogs. It was obvious that their comfort, happiness, and individual needs matter to the people looking after them, and we loved seeing everything the team does to give them the best experience possible while they wait for their homes. Their cat shelter deserves some love too! The spacious, cozy catio was easily one of our favorite features. It was such a cool environment for the cats and another example of the thought they've put into making shelter life comfortable and enriching. We visited while traveling with Bound By Dogs and filmed our tour as well, so anyone curious can find our visit for a closer look at the shelter, animals, and wonderful people behind it. We left West Columbia Gorge Humane Society smiling. Great people, beautifully cared-for animals, and a team doing work we're very happy to support. 🐾”

“Best place ever. Been coming in here for decades. If you dont like the sweet grandmas that volunteer here thats a you problem. My kids' favorite place to thrift shop and grab some free bread and treats. They also provide food boxes once a month if you qualify. ;)”

“Our experience at Birch has been incredible! This is our second time being a part of this community. We had moved away and it became too difficult to be there... But as soon as we moved back in the area we joined back up with this amazing community! Our 14 year old daughter has found a lot of excitement and confidence in being able to volunteer! Birch allows us to be able to save money every month on groceries and put that money towards bills and other needs for our family of six! The staff is incredible and the opportunities to learn about finances, becoming financially literate, and being able to pass that to our children are of such a high value to us!! We appreciate them so much! And we are so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing community! They are growing with more opportunities constantly!”

“Our family enjoyed our reunion some years back and planning a return in 2027. A lot of things to do outdoors and a large gathering area for get togethers, puzzles, board games and cards. Meals were good, not great, but good enough. I'm spoiled when it comes to great food, so others might find it great there. Troutdale is not far away with plenty of places to go and fuel up, especially if you have a big rig and need more room to get to the fuel pumps. A few truck stops and many restaurants to choose from. Going the opposite direction you can find The Bridge Of The Gods. You can take a cruise on the Columbia River, visit the Dam, or eat at a restaurant on the rivers edge. The famous Falls is close by as well. The facility isn't set up for campers or RV's but close by they have a few to bring your rig and still enjoy family visiting during non sleeping hours.”

“This is a really great option for parents that want to get their kids into a classroom environment, while still being able to remain hands on with their child's learning and development. Our oldest has been going here the last two years, and she absolutely loves it. She is devastated when she has to miss school if she's sick. She has so much fun here and learns so many cool things. We plan to send our youngest here when she's old enough!”
